How to Change Server in Sea of Conquest

Last Updated:

In Sea of conquest you will start off any game in a recently added server which places you in a Sea with other similar level players who have also just started. This is a good way to get into the game and start to develop your naval fleet to take on the enemies and challenges in the game.

As the game progresses and you move on to further seasons after the end of season 1 you will be able to travel to new seas and meet up with players and gangs from other servers. But your home sea (your server) will still remain the same and you will be based back there whenever you leave the new seasons seas, through the blue portals.

Options for Changing server

Up until now there was no way to migrate your character over to be based in a different server. If you wanted to play in a different server to join friends or look for a different challenge then you had to start a new character. This can be done through the Characters section in the Settings Menu.

However there is now an option to change your base server in Sea of Conquest which means that your fleet will have a new home outside of the seasonal waters. You can find this new option in the Season Menu under the Transfer Option.

There are some restrictions and costs to this new option as described below.

How to Change Server in Sea of Conquest

When can you move

The first restriction is when you are able to move. You can only move during a cross server season. This means after the end of season 1 and while participating in season 2, 3 etc. Your flagship will also need to have reached level 10 but you should have done this by the time you reach season 2.

Where can you move to

You are also restricted on where you are able to move to. You can only move to one of the servers that you are currently up against in your season, In season 2 you many be joined in the waters by 2 or 3 other servers, on later seasons this number will increase but it will be a limited number of servers that are close to your original one.

What does it cost

Each server migration that you want to make will require a new item called Seafaring Permits. The amount that you need though will depend on your total power. The minimum costs is 20 Permits but this will rise quickly to 200 Permits if you power is high. A list of the costs is below.

Note on Power: The game will record your All-time High power that you have had at any time so you cannot lower your cost by removing heroes / equipment temporarily.

Power Permits required
< 27.0M 20
27.0M - 29.1M 30
29.1M - 30.9M 50
30.9M - 34.5M 70
34.5M - 42.7M 100
42.7M - 44.8M 130
44.8M - 51.2M 170
51.2M - 999.9M 200

Where to get Seafaring Permits

There are 2 ways to get the Tokens that you need. The first is though purchasing a package that you can find in the Transfers screen. This gets you 5 permits at a time.

The second lets you buy some permits in the Gang Market, You buy these with Gang Seals (the gang currency) and they costs 400 seals each. You can only buy 2 of them at a time though and then need to wait for the market contents to refresh. With a 3 day refresh time this way will take you around 30 days to collect the minimum of 20 permits for a lower level account.

Requirements of moving

Finally in order to make the move you need to complete the following requirements

  • All ships are unoccupied - Make sure you are not in any battles, garrisoning, gathering etc.
  • Not a member of a Gang - You must leave your gang in order to migrate.
  • Not carrying any cargo
  • Flagship is at least level 10
  • Flagship found in the world map.
  • Not a member of any squad.

Conclusion

So if you are a long term player with a higher level flagship and have been wanting to join friends in a different server this is now a good option for you to make that move assuming you are now within the same seasonal seas. If not then the only other option is starting again with a new character.
