How to Land Faster in Fortnite Battle Royale?

Ever wonder why as soon as the go signal pops up, people scramble off the bus?

You didn't think that they were just a couple of hot headed fools didn't you? Well if you weren’t as impatient as they are, you’d probably have high enough confidence about your shooting skills, or you’re making one of the biggest mistake in the game.

In Fortnite’s battle royale, the faster you reach the ground means the sooner you can start scouring for loots. And though some of the not-so-new players tend to know this fact, a lot of them still do not know what to do so that the glider wouldn't deploy automatically. When this happens, it doesn't matter how early you jumped off the bus, you’d still probably end up outpaced by other players.

Here comes the trick! - if you want your glider to deploy the last second, you should head towards the surrounding water on the outskirts of the island. Aiming for the water will allow you to “not” engage the glider. Be cautious though because we don't want to actually land on water, and somewhat just delay the engagement of the glider. This takes practice, but when you do get the hang of it, you can deploy the glider at the last second, and swing right back to the nearest ground.

What this does is essentially letting you reach the ground at full speed. Take note that this stunt can actually kill you from the fall and you might have to practice it a number of times to successfully pull it off. Head towards points of interest that have nearby structures like barns or houses which usually houses a few loots.

Additional Tip:

This strategy is particularly helpful to newbies too as the outskirts aren’t usually as populated as the inner points of interest in the map. The downside though is that there aren't as many loots in these areas compared to other locations. If you are not as skilled in combat, you may practice your building skills here freely as confrontations are very unlikely.

Take precaution though as the bad thing about not engaging yourself as much in combat, will probably lead you to honing other specialties like using traps, building structures, or generally in prioritizing your defense and survival - which is important too, but focusing on one strategy or one strength in this game will ultimately make you a less rounded type of a player. For instance, if the chance comes up on you where you get pitted with a lot of other players and engagement is imminent, you are most likely to lose compared to those seasoned in heavy confrontations.

Nonetheless, there are several strategies to become better in the battle royale mode of the game. What matters is that regardless of the situation that might arrive, you are skilled enough to adapt and outpace everyone in the match.
