Sheep
Farming Simulator 16 Guide

Added:

Together with Cows, Sheep will be one of the animals available in your farm. To tend to sheep, no purchase of them is required except for the purchasing of equipments to make their food and transport their by-product. In the beginning, of course, you won’t have enough resources to buy the equipment needed to make their food (it’s actually a wonder that they survived your first few weeks with no food :P ). But once you have already gained enough money to produce their food, your Sheep will produce Wool which is a highly saleable item in the game.

Feeding Sheep to Produce Wool

To make wool all you have to do is feed your sheep. Your sheep can be fed with either grass, hay, straw, hay and straw bales, and even a combination of everything. Their productivity increases when you feed them more hay or straw bales.

Feeding with Simple Grass

To feed them with Grass, simply Mow your nearby meadow.

Tip: To increase or make the grass field better, you may opt to spray some fertilizer around.

When you’re done mowing the whole Grass field, proceed with driving your Tractor with a Loading Wagon attachment, around the field to pick up the Grass. Once that is done, drive your Tractor and unload the Grass onto the Sheep shed and check on the Wool wagon near the shed for productivity.

Making Grass Bales

Note: Making bales will require quite a lot of money first as it would require you to purchase a few pricey equipments (Baler, Windrower, Auto Stacker, etc.) Despite the heavy price, investing in those equipment will surely be rewarding later on as your Animals can provide products with bigger yields).

To make Grass Bales, begin the normal process of mowing (or even fertilizing) the meadow. Afterward, use a Windrower to arrange the Grass into neat rows. Once that is done, attach a Baler to your Tractor and then drive along the rows on your field—the Baler will create Grass bales once it gets enough Grass to make one bale. After the Baler, attach an Auto Stacker (Arcusin FS 63-72) to your Tractor and then drive along the field to pick up the Grass Bales. Once you have collect all the Grass Bales, drop them off to the Sheep shed for their food.

Feeding with Simple Hay

Feeding your Sheep with Hay involves pretty much the same method in producing Grass. To start, Mow your Meadow. Afterward, run a Tedder (equipment used to dry the Grass) across the field. After successfully drying up the Grass what’s next is you may run a Windrower across the field of dried Grass in order to arrange the Grass into neat rows. (Note: Using the Windrower may not be necessary as you could still collect the Hay with the Loading Wagon. Though it is not required, using the Windrower is still recommended when creating Grass and Straw Bales for a higher efficiency).

After using the Windrower, you may now drive your Tractor, with a Loading Wagon attachment, throughout the field in order to collect the Hay. After doing so, you may drive your Tractor with the Loading Wagon towards the Sheep shed and unload the collected Hay at the drop-off area for the Sheep’s food. Later on, you may check for the produced Wool by attaching the Wool Wagon onto a Tractor and waiting for the wool to stack up on the wagon.

Feeding with Straw

Straw is what is left on a field after you have harvested Wheat (the yellow rows created on the field after every harvest). To pick up the Straw, all you have to do is drive a Tractor with a Loading Wagon attachment through the yellow rows of Straw all over the field. Once that is done, and all rows have been covered, drive your Loading Wagon to the sheep shed to deposit the collected Straw.

Making Straw Bales

Note: Making bales will require quite a lot of money first as it would require you to purchase a few pricey equipments (Baler, Windrower, Auto Stacker, etc.) Despite the heavy price, investing in those equipment will surely be rewarding later on as your Animals can provide products with bigger yields).

Straw can also be used to produce Straw Bales. To create Bales, drive a Baler onto the rows of Straw on a field. Once a Baler has enough material to make a single Bale, then it will drop the Bale on the field to wait for collection. After the whole field is done, what is left to do is to drive the Arcusin FS 63-72 auto stacker along the Straw bales to pick up all the formed straw bales.

With your auto stacker filled up, you may drive to the sheep shed and drop off the Straw Bales for them to use as food.
