Progressing through the story in Alchemy Stars is one of your main goals. Not only do you learn about the world of Astra and its characters, but you are rewarded as well with items for clearing the game’s different episodes. As you continue, you’ll be facing enemies that are more challenging. You will want to improve your character’s strengths such as upgrading them and ascending them.

Another way for you to improve your character’s levels is through breakthroughs. In this page, we’ll be discussing what they are, as well as the materials needed and their benefits. Let’s check this system out in Alchemy Stars.

What is Breakthrough?

When starting the game, you’re introduced to leveling up your characters through upgrading. When checking out your character’s page, you will find other ways of improving their strength, and one of them is through a breakthrough.

So, what exactly does breakthrough do? This is a system that lets you improve your character by providing them with different levels of bonuses to their stats. If you look at the breakthrough page, you will find different stars that you can light up, and these will require materials. Each star will provide a bonus to your character’s stats or skills, and these vary per character in the game.

Breakthrough levels will vary depending on each character’s star rating. A 6-Star character has 6 levels of breakthrough they can acquire, while 5-Star characters have 5 levels and so forth. This means that 6-Star characters have more capabilities of getting stronger, so you might want to take that into consideration when using your materials.

What are Heartstone and Solambers?

Breakthroughs require two types of material in order for it to be done and they are composed of Heartstones as well as Solambers. They are limited items since they can only be acquired through special means therefore you must be careful of consuming them. You will want to breakthrough characters that you are sure that you’ll be using often.

Heartstone is a material that you can acquire each time you recruit a character. This is the basic material needed for a breakthrough, and you should be able to unlock the first breakthrough levels with it. Later on, you will then require an additional material called a Solamber.

Solambers are materials that are character specific. They can only be acquired whenever you get a recruit that’s a duplicate, and this is only applicable to 4-Star to 6-Star characters that are pulled. Instead of getting another character, you will get materials instead that can be used for breakthroughs, therefore it’s an advantage whenever you recruit the same character.

How to Breakthrough

In order to perform a breakthrough for your character, you simply have to check the Aurorian page and then choose the character that you want to get stronger. Tap on the breakthrough tab, and you will be provided with a page that has different stars that you can fill up.

Tap on each star, and you’ll be able to unlock a breakthrough level by providing the materials needed. Take note that you cannot skip breakthrough levels, and you must follow the path of the stars that are shown. The breakthrough of your character will be shown on the Aurorians page as well as stars that are lit up on your character’s icon.

There are Legendary Aurorians that are available in the game as well that you can obtain through the Old Seal. These characters require a different breakthrough material called a Star Crest, and you can only get them through the Store, so you should take note of that.

Being able to maximize your breakthrough not only provides bonuses to your character’s stats, but you can also get modified skills and improved ones in order to make your characters stronger. Once you have a team that has a lot of breakthrough levels, then they will be able to take on better challenges easily.
