In chapter 15 pt2, why do we need to find a key that leads to 11111111 ? Where does the number 11111111 come from?

Not sure why it's 11111111 to be honest.
The way I worked it out was that the piece of paper in the tent shows how to go from a given to a result via an encryption key - 0+0=1, 0+1=0, 1+0 = 0, 1+1=1. The encryptor dial gives different answers to the ones on the paper, meaning it was using a different encryption key. Working backwards from the result to the given value meant I could work out what the encryption key was, and then I put this in the computer.

Yea it's a bitwise "not xor" between msg and key... Also means that if you set 1111111 as the message the output will show you the key directly. 0 0 REPORT
