Why do ppl quit alliances and play another alliance and come back to the alliance they quit just for a event why would that be?

Some players like to try out different alliances and some may have multiple friend groups to interact with.
For Wasteland king event which is SvS the strongest players from a state may all join up to 1 alliance to make sure they can combine strengths and take the Zenith Hub. Then return to separate alliances afterwards.
