I'm stuck. I started a new state and I'm stuck on instructional mode it wants me to attack zombie but I have no troops trained yet and a can't do anything but what it wants me to. I can't back out. Is there any way to get out?

This sounds like a bug in the game, you may need to try starting again. You can also try checking though our tips for how to fix your game. But if it is a game issue then your best option is to contact the game developers to report it.
