If I switch alliances, how do I relocate my sanctuary to the new alliance's location?

So we tested this question in our game and for us, when we quit the alliance we were moved to a random location, because we were below level 8.

When we joined another alliance, we were automatically ported to the location of that alliance.

Same that’s why I came trying to find answers now I’m to far away to join raids and when I try to use directed relocate it tells me I can’t

How about if you are above level 8?

So all I did was go to the map, find where my alliance was located. Tapped on my alliance’s location. Than I found a spot on the map where no ones base was tapped on that spot and it said relocate or occupy. I hint relocate and my base moved in seconds.

I did the above and get "the captain can't use direct relocate". So I'm stuck in my old alliances territory

It's because you have something else running like a raid or a resource gathering.
