RSS is the abbreviated form of resources -- usually referring to the different types of resources in the game like grains, lumber, iron, and quarts. You'd usually see people requesting RSS to their alliance members to support them especially on builds above Capital Level 25 onward -- where the required value of resources to push through with upgrades becomes very taxing on individual players.
Do I really need to increase the VIP level?
This is not necessary especially if you have no intention on spending money on the game. However, it is more likely that you'd have a difficult time reaching for the top spot in events as some VIP levels would give extra marching troops for players -- which is key in earning a huge difference in the gap in performance. For instance, during events where the sum of resources gathered in the kingdom is what is computed for, having more marching troops will definitely be an asset to those that have unlocked these added features in the VIP levels.
What does it mean if you become R2 (from R1)?
This means that your contributions and participation in the alliance is being acknowledged by your superiors and that you are doing a good job. Primarily though, these ranks are separated by power levels. The higher power you accumulate, the higher the chance you'll get noticed by your alliance officials.
What does the sparkling moon effect mean on my kingdom?
This means that you have recently been attacked and that your Citadel is currently burning, or the defense wall is still damaged and haven't recovered fully (which you'll have to manually repair every after 30 minutes).
What does “farm accounts” mean?
Farm Account are additional accounts set up by advanced players in the game in order to activate Conquest bonuses for their main accounts - which activates a series of improvements in their kingdom. Farm accounts can also be used as additional resource gatherers for the main account, or as soldier farm when kill-events are on.

I love this game however there isn't very many places where you can get information on how to configure certain things. There needs to be an official game guide explaining how to do things
