AppGamer Answered:

RSS is the abbreviated form of resources -- usually referring to the different types of resources in the game like grains, lumber, iron, and quarts. You'd usually see people requesting RSS to their alliance members to support them especially on builds above Capital Level 25 onward -- where the required value of resources to push through with upgrades becomes very taxing on individual players.

I started playing online games when they first originated. Games like command and conquor and age of empires star craft etc none of them refer to resources as rss.... it was always just res for short. yes they both mean the same thing but when did res become rss? what game decided to change from res to rss? and how did it take off world wide so now everyone new to gaming says rss and all us original online gamers still say res.
