What do you do with ship parts that you don't need any more?

Go to the Inventory (bag icon, lower left) and select the ship parts section. Then on the top right above the list of parts there is a recycle button with a counter (... / 500). Tap this to get a list of parts that you can organize and then select to delete and convert to Starlight Shards.
