Lost Lands 8 - Part 5

This is our walkthrough for Part 5 of Lost Lands 8 Sand Captivity, an mystery puzzle game from Five-BN games. In Part 4 we have found Maaron in the secret room inside the Academy of Magicians. Now we need to find tghe information and items we need to make a Rune to travel to the Darkwoods.

Activate the Dolmen to the Dark Woods

In the main library view tap the archway with the green light above it (to the left of the secret doorway), this takes you to the hallway in the library.

Note the 6 portraits above the arch, this is a clue for later.

Tap the lectern with the scroll on it and then view the scroll to see a list of Departments for the library.

You can now tap at the far end of the hallway to move into it. You need to find the correct departments based on the symbol above each archway.

Move forward to here, the Department of motions in space and time (we want a travel rune)

Then tap on the lectern on the left.

Collect the Hairpin and then view the scroll.

Note the tick for section 12.

Tap on shelf 12 on the right to view it and then on the books to open and collect a book with instructions for Making a Rune for a Dolmen.

Now back out of the library and back to the courtyard of the academy. Then tap to view the horse on the left again.

On the right is a locked cabinet. Use the hairpin on this to pick the lock and open it.

Collect the Bust from inside and the pickaxe.

Now go back inside the Academy entrance hall. Tap the line of 5 busts on the left to view them.

Add the Bust you have collected to the empty space and then you need to solve this puzzle.

Tap pairs of busts to swap them and arrange them into the correct positions.

Hint: the paintings seen above give you the order.

Once done the light above will lower and reveal a small panel that you can tap to open.

Collect the round 'Scales' and a blue 'Drop'

Exit back to the courtyard and view again the wooden doors on the right (next to the noticeboard).

View the lock and add the blue drop to it to start a puzzle.

To solve this puzzle you need to move the 4 butterflies to the correct color positions. The butterflies will only move forward when you tap them.

You can use one butterfly to push another butterfly if it is in front of it.

Moving a butterfly to one of the 4 pints with the circular arrows will spin it around to let it move in the other direction.

If you get stuck then you can reset the puzzle.

With the door open you can enter the Greenhouse. It is a mess.

Tap on the tree and you will see a cut scene with a talking flower.

Understand What is killing plants

Collection item: a boot by the root of the tree.

Bottom center of the scene is a small plant with flies buzzing around it. Tap to view this.

Collect a small leaf from the ground under it.

Now back out to the courtyard and view the noticeboard on the right.

Collect the gloves, then also tap the board to collect a pencil and paper.

Go back into the greenhouse.

Use the gloves on the infected bush to pull it out. You then have a task to find and remove 15 more infected branches.

Hint: these are small branches with furry looking green growth on them.

You can zoom into the scene to examine areas more closely.

Now return to Maarons room. Then tap to view the round table at the back by the green curtain.

On the left is a microscope device. Add the branch to it to view it. This is a puzzle.

You need to select the correct combination of lenses to bring the green spots on the branch into focus.

Select the large lens (lower left) and then the 2 smaller lenses form the right.

Return to the Library and move to the hallway. You need to find the correct department again.

In this case move forward to the final archway to the Department of Biology.

Look at the scroll to see 'Garden Pests of the lost lands' highlighted. Shelf 4.

View shelf 4 and tap to view a book with instructions to make Insecticide. You need to collect some ingredients.
