Lost Lands 8 - Part 12

This is our walkthrough for Part 12 of Lost Lands 8 Sand Captivity, an mystery puzzle game from Five-BN games. In Part 11 we have traveled to the Darkwoods to look for the centaurs. We managed to Rescue a young centaur from a trap and now need to collect the Search Lantern which is guarded by a Manticore.

Put the Manticore to sleep

We have seen a recipe for a 'sleep bomb' and we need to collect ingredients.

View the skeleton that is in the tree above the rocks in the center of the initial Darkwoods scene.

First collect a Key from the breast pocket of the shirt. Then use the knife on the branch on the top right to collect some Resin.

Now view the stump on the left again with the fireflies.

Collect a Cone (pinecone) from the ground in the lower right (1 of 16). Next view the skeleton again by the tree in the distance top right.

Collect another Cone (2 of 16) from the ground below the paper. Then view the hole on the top left again.

Collect a cone from the top left. (3 of 16). Now move to the Camp area

View the locked box on the lower left.

Collect cone from the ground on the left (4 of 16) Then use the key to open the box.

Collect a Waterskin and a Hand net from inside.

Next view the wood chopping block in the lower center. Collect another cone from the lower center. (5 of 16)

Then select a wood log from the ground and place it on the block. Then use the Ax to chop it. Several logs will be split and you can then collect firewood.

View the clearing in the distance again. and collect another cone from the lower left. (6 of 16)

Next view the broken cage again, there are 2 more cones to collect. (8 of 16)

Then view the trees on the right where the hammock was hanging.

Again you can collect 2 more cones (10 of 16).

Then view the stone on the lower right (with the rope tied to it). There are 2 more cones here. (12 of 16)

Back up to the initial area of the darkwoods and view the fireflies on the left again. Use the hand net to collect some.

Now move through to the swamp area.

View the blue flower in the center and collect another cone from the left. (13 of 16)

Next view the sunken hut again. Collect another cone from the lower left. (14 of 16)

Then view the roof of the sunken hut again and view the mushrooms.

Use the waterskin on the mushrooms and you will collect a bag with mushroom gas.

Now view the swamp on the top left of the scene.

First collect another cone from the wood on the lower right (15 of 16). Then tap on the bottle floating in the water.

This starts a puzzle game.

Tap squares to throw rocks into the water. Doing this will push the lily pads, or the bottle away from the impact by up to 2 squares. Other objects in the water don't move.

You need to move the bottle to the bottom center highlighted area. Watch the video below for help.

Now you can return to the Camp area. Look inside the small white tent on the center of the scene.

Collect another cone near the back left. (16 of 16). And then also the upturned cauldron from the back right.

Manuscript: view the manuscript on the ground under the cauldron.

Then collect the rope that was under the manuscript.

Now look again inside the large tent on the left.

View the table and place on it the fireflies, the bag of gas, the 16 cones and the resin. Next we need to boil water.

Place the firewood on the ground under the pot stand then add the cauldron on top of the pot stand.

Collect a bucket from he ground under the table. then tap to view the large barrel on the left of the tent. (behind some shelves). Use the bucket to collect the water.

Then from the shelves on the left collect a 'Part of the lock'

Now view the large chest on the right of the tent. Use the part of the lock on it to open it.

Collect a 'Knife' wheel blade from the lid of the box, some matches from inside. Then also tap the bellows to move them to the edge of the box.

View the table again and collect the fork from the top left. Then add the knife wheel blade to the grinder on the right. Then add the round disk with holes to the grinder and finally the large nut to secure it.

Now you can add the 16 cones to the grinder, followed by the resin. Then tap the jar of fireflies to to add them and finally the bag of gas.

Collect the bowl of ingredients. And also the empty firefly jar.

Then view the pole on the right to see some pictures fixed on with pins.

Use the fork here to collect the Pins.

Now view the bellows again on the box and use the pins on it to fix it. You can then collect the bellows.

Add the bucket of water to the cauldron and then use the matches to light the fire. Then place the bellows by the fire to get the flames going.

Add the ingredients to the water, then place the jar on the log to the left of the cauldron.

There is a metal scoop on the ground to the right of the fire. Tap this and then the cauldron to fill the jar with liquid. Then collect the sleeping potion.

Back up to the initial area of the dark woods and view the skeleton against the tree. Collect his belt.

Now view the jar of sleeping potion in the inventory and add to it the bottle of rum. Then add the belt and you will collect the sleep bomb.

View the skeleton against the tree again and then look in the hole. The cave is below. Throw the sleep bomb down.

Once the manticore is asleep use the rope on the hole and then you can go down.

First view the pile of bones on the lower right. From the right hand side collect a Hair of centaur.

Then view the large stone chest again and you can open it to collect the lantern.

Add the hair to it and it will glow. Collect this. Now we can search for the centaurs.
