Does it really take so long to farm gold on resource tiles?

If you are not familiar to these type of games, know that the prime currency available for farming through resource tiles (in the kingdom) are usually the hardest(or longest) ones to gather. Regardless if you improve efficiency through research, it is always impractical to use your troops in gathering prime currency (Gold in this game). What you should do instead is to take part in events and try to perform your best to be in the top ranks to win gold along with some speed-ups and what not. The Top Lord, for instance, will help you gather a lot of gold in a week if you successfully meet the 3 tiers of requirements every day -- even far more than having 3 troops dedicated to farming Gold resource tiles in the map.
