How to get More APT and Fusion Cores

Last Updated:
Counter:Side is a side-scroller, hero collector title that features an engaging story, smooth combat system, wonderful art, and interesting characters. Managing your units is an integral part of the game, with their strength having a direct impact on your progress in the game. As such, processes like Limit Break and Limit Fusion are necessary to further improve a unit’s combat capability. In our Counter Side Core Farming guide, we will discuss the various methods needed to acquire more cores that you can use for Limit Break and Limit Fusion.

How to get more APT Cores

APT Cores are materials needed to limit break units. There are three different types of cores, as listed below. You can easily identify them through their color. Each core also has two variants: the normal APT core and the rarer S-APT core. Normal APT cores will be required in the first limit break attempt. S-APT cores will be required alongside normal APT cores for succeeding limit breaks. You can only use the cores to limit break their intended unit types.

How to get More APT and Fusion Cores

You can get APT cores using the methods listed below.
* Operations > Anti-Air Training Simulation: You can only complete this twice per day. The awarded cores will be random as well but you can include this to your daily routine.
* Operations > Supply Operations > 02: Investigation Activities: These missions have no entry limit so you can pretty much farm here via auto-battles, as much as your eternium allows. So far, the most accessible ones are 1-1 and 1-3, both missions offering Counter APT cores (red cubes) as the main reward, with a chance to get other cores or additional Counter APT cores. 1-5 and 1-7 also give Counter APT cores but their unlock requirements are quite high.
* Obtain from APT Core Boxes: You can get these boxes usually from daily and weekly missions, as well as unlocking certain achievements. After obtaining them, just access your storage and open them. The cores you’ll get from these boxes will be random.
* Purchase them directly from the Shop. Check the Today’s Deals under Exchange Center to find discounted cores that you can purchase using credits.
* Get APT Core Coupons from the Planet Mall. Unlike APT Core Boxes, coupons will allow you to select what APT Core you want to get upon using them. You’re limited to x10 [S-APT Core] Coupons and x5 [10 APT Cores] Coupons per week.
* Alternatively, you can also buy up to 3 [S-APT Core] Coupons from the Consortium (guild) shop.
* In the Business Card exchange shop, you can exchange Ownerless Business Cards to get up to x3 [10 APT Cores] Coupon and x10 [S-APT Core] Coupons. This is a bit manageable since you’ll be able to get a lot of Ownerless Business Cards by dismissing unwanted employees. You’ll have a lot of them especially when you’re heavily farming through different operations.

Another method of balancing out your supply of APT cores is through Gear Crafting. Access the Gear Crafting > Crafting Facility > APT Core tab. From there, you’ll be able to convert the APT cores that you have a lot of, to the APT cores you’ll need. If you're heavily using Counter-type units in most of your squads, you’ll probably burn through a lot of Counter APT cores. So far, Counter-type units are generally preferred, not to mention most of the high-tier units are Counters.

If you ever had an imbalanced amount of unused APT cores, you can convert them to the cores you’ll need. The downsides of this process is that you’ll need to spend credits and consumables called Special Catalysts. Not only that, but you won’t get an equal exchange. You’ll need to spend 3 APT cores to transform them into one APT core of a different type.

Fusion Cores

Fusion Cores are used as materials for Limit Fusion. They are incredibly rare and can’t be farmed but thankfully, there are some manageable methods of acquiring them.
* Dismiss a SSR unit: We will usually strongly advise against doing it unless you don’t need that copy anymore or if you don’t really want that SSR unit.
* Fuse ordinary cores via Gear Crafting > Crafting Facility > APT Core tab. To craft a Fusion Core, you’ll need x5 (any) S-APT cores, x10 Special Catalyst and 30,000 credits. The crafting time will also take around 30 minutes per core. Alternatively, you can also fuse 5 Fusion Core Fragments instead of S-APT Cores.
* Buy from the Exchange Shop using quartz (under Today’s Deals). The deals of the day are random but they can be refreshed up to 5 times a day using a small amount of quartz.
* You can also exchange using quartz directly via the Convenience Goods tab. You can buy up to 2 fusion cores for 260 quartz each weekly.
* Exchange 400 [Task Planet Points] in the Planet Mall. You can do this up to 5 times monthly.
* Purchase 1 fusion core weekly using 2000 [Coalition Tokens]. (exclusive to Consortium/guild members)
* Exchange [Ownerless Business Cards] (obtained by dismissing employees) to get 5 fusion cores weekly.
How to get More APT and Fusion Cores

Cores can be hard to come by, especially the rare Fusion Cores. I suggest starting collecting Fusion Cores as soon as you can since you’ll need several of them per Limit Fusion session. Of course, don’t forget the important reminder: don’t use SSR copies to limit break your original units. You can use those SSR copies for Limit Fusion instead to lower its Fusion Core requirements.

This concludes our guide about finding cores in Counter:Side. Please check out our other pages within the guide for more helpful tips and information about the game.
