Felix (Homebase) Operation Guide
More Final Gear
Final Gear is a mech-based strategy gacha RPG boasting a large roster of collectible female pilots and customizable mechs. Pilots aside, players also have to upgrade and maintain Mechs that pilots use in combat. Aside from the normal and even combat missions, Final Gear also has a resource management feature that will allow you to obtain permanent upgrades and improvements for your mechs, pilots, and other important aspects of the game. In this guide, we will provide the basics of the Felix or home base mechanic of the game.
You’ll automatically unlock this feature once you reach the appropriate player/mercenary level. This base has several rooms or facilities that work in sync with each other. It can be daunting to learn at first but once you get the hang of it, you’ll appreciate how valuable they can be. If you’re familiar with the concept, you’ll understand that home base or base-building features are not designed to be completed immediately; instead, tasks and upgrading the base will span over a huge amount of time. The same is true with Final Gear’s Felix home base feature.
First, let’s have an overview of the home base’s functions and basic operations. Take note that we’ll only be able to list down the facilities that are immediately available for most players; there are some locked facilities that will require higher Bridge level, which can take an incredibly long time to achieve, unless you’re playing heavily regularly and managing your resources very efficiently.
Each room (except for dormitories) will require at least one pilot for it to function. As you upgrade and/or modify these facilities, you’ll be able to add more pilots to individual rooms, further increasing their proficiency and output. On top of pilots, each room will need to use resources in the form of food, water, and power as maintenance costs. When you lack any of the resources, the affected room(s) will stop functioning as well.
There are rooms that produce resources needed to run the base (food, water, power) and some rooms convert raw materials or basic resources into materials that you can use to upgrade the base and purchase new Tech to add permanent buffs to your base, facilities, mechs, and other features of the game. On top of that, stationed pilots will also be able to provide additional resources in the form of random gifts that you can use to improve a pilot’s fondness level.
Rooms will require a specific pilot trait. This can be one of the following: Crafting, Dexterity, Wisdom, Physique, and Emotion. When assigned to work, a pilot’s Vitality will be spent as she’s earning trait EXP. Whenever you assign a pilot with the required trait into the room, the pilot gains extra trait EXP (Example: assigning a Dexterity Pilot to the Recycling Room) You can still assign pilots with different traits from the facility’s recommended trait though the trait EXP the pilot receives will be lesser. You can use the Room Overview function to easily view all rooms and the assigned pilots.
As the pilot increases her Trait level, her Logistics skills will level up or even unlock new skills, allowing them to provide buffs or additional rewards from expeditions or working in Felix’s facilities. You can check a pilot’s Logistics Skill tree by tapping the Felix icon on the left side of the pilot information screen.
In this section, we will tackle each room and discuss their functions. Rooms can be upgraded or modified to improve their production efficiency and even increase the number of pilots you can assign to them (further improving their output). Upgrading and Modification will take several hours but the room will function normally without problems during the process. You can instantly finish the upgrade or modification by paying the displayed amount of crystals.
Resource rooms that produce power, water, and food will have temporary storage; this storage is where the resources are reserved until the player manually claims them. Once the temporary storage is full, the facility will stop producing the said resource.
Bridge
The bridge is the Felix’s Central Hub. You don’t need to assign any pilots to it to make it work though it will still have its own (hourly) maintenance cost. It’s not capable of producing any resources but in order to unlock new rooms or upgrade existing rooms, you still have to upgrade the Bridge. You need to meet the required Mercenary Team level and Power Supply Room room level to upgrade the Bridge.
Power Supply Room
Trait Required: Physique
This room provides power to the entire base - that’s why it is the first priority facility that you have to upgrade since the Bridge upgrade path relies on your Power Supply Room level. Power is one of the three resources needed to run the base.
Water Storage Room
Trait Required: Emotion
Water is one of the three resources needed to run the base.
Water Storage Room
Trait Required: Physique
Food is one of the three resources needed to run the base.
Research Lab
Trait Required: Wisdom
This facility produces the necessary materials used in purchasing upgrades in Tech Development like Tech Cores and Polymer Mods. However, to produce these materials, you’ll need to use resources like Food and Restoration Gel, Water and High Pressure Pipe, and Power and Nano-Synthetic Thread.
Intelligence Room
Trait Required: Wisdom
This room produces a lot of different items that cover combat, production, and investigations. Just keep this room running and you’re sure to obtain a lot of useful items that you can use for your pilots or the home base.
Garage
Trait Required: Crafting
This facility is the core production room in the home base since this is where you can only get the required items for upgrading (Life Support System) and modifying (Magnetic Actuator) your home base’s facilities. In turn, you can convert the main resources (food, water, and power) into materials needed to manufacture said upgrade and modification items. Other than that, you can also create resource items that can be recycled into other resources like gold and bits.
Recycling Room
Trait Required: Dexterity
This facility allows you to break down and disassemble certain items to get usable resources like food, water, power, bits, gold, and more.
Dormitory
You’ll start off having access to all six dormitories in the base. This is where you can assign pilots to rest and replenish their vitality. Initially, each dorm room can only hold one pilot. This can be upgraded to allow each room to accommodate up to 5 pilots at a time. Like other rooms, there’s an hourly maintenance cost for this room as well.
Of course, there are still other rooms that I’ve yet to unlock. However, it’s mostly locked behind a really high Bridge level so they’re going to be unavailable for most players for a while. However, as long as you keep your current facilities regularly running, you’ll be able to unlock more rooms in no time.
