In our Final Gear Tier List page, we will cover which characters/units are worth considering building and investing on to help you clear the game's content.

Final Gear Tier List
Final Gear Tier List

Final Gear is a mech-based strategy gacha RPG boasting a large roster of collectible pilots and customizable mechs. Each pilot in the game has their own personality and set of skills. However, this doesn’t make all pilots equal. Some can be incredibly powerful due to their skills and specialty while others excel in different fields other than combat. In our Final Gear Tier List, we will discuss the high-tier characters in the game so far, to help you decide which ones to get and include in your team.

Disclaimer

Please be reminded that Tier Lists are not “definite” measures of the character’s strength and potential. There are a lot of factors to be considered like the characters’ availability, their synergy with your team, their utility, equipment, etc. As such, please use our tier lists as what they’re meant to be - a guide. Use tier lists to help you decide whether you’ll want to invest resources and time to build a character. At the end of the day, it’s you who will decide which ones you’ll use based on preference and performance .

------------------------------

Normally, you’ll expect most of the top-tier units to be the highest rarity (SSR in this game). However, as you’ll see in our tier list below, SSR pilots are not automatically broken in terms of utility and strength.

SSR pilots can be obtained through special and standard recruitment, though the limited/ special pilots are only available through Special Recruitment. SR pilots have a somewhat higher chance to be pulled but you’ll most likely get R and N units during recruitment. However, this makes top-tier, low-rarity units to become much more accessible to average players, especially the F2P (free-to-play) crowd. Since you can get more duplicate copies of low-rarity units, the easier it will be to Modify them (increasing their stars), giving them permanent boost to all their stats. Increasing their stars will also unlock their 3rd and 4th skills, which will bring even more utility to the table.

Pilots also have different roles/classes, which determines their method of combat. In our list below, we will provide more details about some of the high tier characters. Unfortunately, since this is a gacha game, we can only discuss in detail the pilots that we’re able to recruit. Also, we’re playing the global version of Final Gear so we can only feature the characters that you can recruit in this version of the game. Please refer to the individual description of the units featured below:

S Rank Pilots

Taysia Graft

Rarity and Class: SSR Striker

Taysia is an outstanding DPS that specializes in dealing massive damage against single targets (bosses). Her skills are somewhat selfish but greatly complements her damage-dealing capability. These skills are even enhanced if she’s piloting her custom mech (Aramis). Her Skill 1 (Swallow Strike) deals a massive amount of damage to an enemy while also debuffing them, increasing the amount of damage they’ll take for a few seconds. This effect is doubled if she pilots her custom mech, making her a top-notch boss killer.

Skill 2 increases her accuracy with a chance to boost her damage, attack rate, crit chance, and crit damage for a few seconds. Skill 3 is a passive skill that deals bonus damage to enemies above 60% HP and below 30% HP (while piloting her custom mech)

Her skill 4 (Concentration) is a passive skill that increases her damage and attack rate up to 7.5% at max (30) stacks; with her custom mech, this rate can go up to 12.5% at max (50) stacks. With the ideal team, Taysia can obliterate anything (within her strength level) you throw at her path.

--------------------------------------------

Rin Kamiuezono

Rarity and Class: SSR Striker

Another top-tier DPS unit, next to Taysia. The main difference is that she specializes in crowd control and dealing with mobs, clearing the way for your other teammates. If possible, make her pilot her custom mech to take advantage of additional effects on her skills (thanks to custom mech activation). Her skill set (see below) gives her outstanding offensive capability.

Skill 1 deals massive damage to enemies while giving her a permanent Sakura Mark that boosts her damage and crit by 2.5% up to a maximum of 50% (20 Sakura Mark stacks) While piloting her custom mech (Godfall), this damage and crit boost is increased to 4% (80% max)

Skill 2 is a passive that deals more damage to enemies above 60% HP normally; with the custom mech bonus effect, she’ll be able to deal more damage to enemies with HP above 60% and lower than 30% while having a buff that increases her crit chance.

Skill 3 allows her to heal herself a bit of HP when attacking with normal attacks when she has 5 or more Sakura Marks. When she has 10 or more marks, she'll receive another damage and crit chance boost. With the custom mech effect, she’ll have the chance to deal 3x the damage when she has 15 or more marks.

Skill 4 is a damage boost passive, with critical hits granting additional chance to grant a Sakura Mark to Rin. With the custom mech bonus on, she’ll be able to fully recharge her energy for every 5 sakura marks obtained.

--------------------------------------------

Elizabeth

Rarity and Class: SSR Bomber

Elizabeth is an amazing rear support unit, capable of providing buffs to the entire team while bombarding enemies from a distance and dealing a bit of AoE damage. Like the other SSRs in this list, she’ll gain bonus effects on her skills when she’s piloting her custom mech (Conductor).

Skill 1 deals multi-hit damage in a small AoE while debuffing enemies, increasing the damage they’ll take for the next few seconds. With the custom mech bonus, this skill increases the damage and crit chance of all teammates by applying a Piano Sound stack that can be stacked up to 3 times until the battle ends.

Skill 2 is a straight-up damage boost for her but with the custom mech’s activation effect, this buff will be applied to teammates too. Skill 3 boosts the attack of all teammates; with the custom mech’s activation effect, teammates will receive an additional crit chance boost as well.

Finally, Skill 4 further increases her damage while automatically granting a Piano Stack for all teammates every 10 seconds.

Elizabeth is a ranged weapon specialist, giving her a damage boost when using ranged weapons. Being a Heavy Parts specialist, she’ll also enjoy additional mech health when she has heavy parts equipped - boosting her survivability even while hanging around in the back row.

--------------------------------------------

Snowy

Rarity and Class: SSR Demolisher

Snowy provides a good balance of providing support buffs while dealing decent damage, thanks to her artillery fire. Like other SSR units, these bonus effects can be activated by piloting her custom mech (Battle Sphere). Skill 1 enables her to fire homing missiles that cover almost the entire battlefield, dealing high damage while increasing the damage taken by enemies for a few seconds. With the custom mech effect on, this skill also increases the crit chance of all teammates for a few seconds. This skill is perfect for clearing mobs or focus-firing on a single target.

Skill 2 gives a random buff to all teammates on the field, as long as Snowy is with them. The buffs may produce the following effect: + damage, + crit chance, + evasion, +Accuracy, + crit damage, and + Drain. With the custom mech bonus on, these buffs are increased even further. Even though the buffs are randomly applied, the point of the matter is that as long as Snowy is on the field, all teammates will have individual buffs, one way or another.

Skill 3 gives Snowy’s standard attacks a chance to boost the crit chance of a teammate with the highest attack upon hitting a target. With the custom mech effect, this chance is increased even further. And finally, Skill 4 gives Snow’s critical hits from standard attacks a chance to boost the damage of a teammate with the highest attack. With the custom mech activation on, Snowy’s critical hits from standard attacks have a chance to ignore the enemy’s defense for a few seconds.

--------------------------------------------

Shmily

Rarity and Class: SR Demolisher

Shmily’s class doesn’t reflect on what she can do on the battlefield. While she won’t excel in demolishing enemies, she’s unarguably the best healer in the game. She can sustain her teammates with continuous and effective healing skills, turning them into frightening near-invincible units. She will fit in any team, and will definitely help you clear most of the game’s contents even when fighting enemies with strength above yours. Shmily is a sought-after unit and can even outrank the other SSR units in the game in terms of overall usefulness and utility.

--------------------------------------------

Viorate

Rarity and Class: SSR Shooter

One of the high-tier mid-range DPS that you can get from normal recruitment or from Royal Invitation (free SSR) tickets. She’ll also enjoy improved and additional skill effects when she’s piloting her custom mech, Mesioola. She’s a machine gun specialist, which provides her a 10% attack boost when using machine guns.

Viorate’s Skill 1 has considerably lower energy cost and deals a massive projectile damage (around 1440% at skill level 3) that also boosts her damage for 10 seconds. With the custom mech activation effect, the damage boost will be removed but her Skill 1 triggers two additional effects. Using Skill 1 for the first time triggers “Outer Void” that reduces the damage she takes while boosting her damage until the battle ends or when she uses her Skill 1 again.

Using Skill 1 for the second time will trigger “Inner Void” that boosts her damage, crit chance, and crit damage against “decaying” enemies (see Skill 4) until the battle ends or when she uses her Skill 1 again.

Skill 2 boosts her attack and with custom mech activation effect, boosts her crit chance as well. Skill 3 boosts her energy recharge and with custom mech activation effect, gives her even more energy recharge.

Finally, skill 4 increases her damage by default. With custom mech activation effect on, her attacks will have a small chance to apply “Decay” to the enemies, making them continuously lose HP equal to a percentage of Viorate’s attack for a few seconds.

Viorate can provide consistent damage to multiple targets at mid-range. She’s not that sturdy so using her in a formation with at least two reliable strikers or a defender in the front line to keep her safe will allow her to shine.

--------------------------------------------

PN26 Illeheath

Rarity and Class: SR Demolisher

We have another SR unit that provides great utility for your team’s offense. Illeheath also owns a custom mech (Black Blossom) that provides bonus effects to her skills upon activation. Skill 1 doesn’t deal that much damage but increases your allied units’ crit chance. This skill will also weaken enemies hit by it. (Weakened enemies will take more damage) With the custom mech activation effect, weakened enemies will also deal less damage.

Skill 2 is a passive skill that boosts Illeheath’s crit chance. If enemies are suffering from debuffs, this skill will increase her damage against them. With the custom mech activation effect, her standard attacks have a considerable chance of weakening enemies.

Skill 3 is an outstanding passive skill that increases the entire team’s energy recharge, allowing them to use their Skill 1 more frequently. Finally, Skill 4 will boost her attack by default. With the custom mech activation effect, this skill will give a chance for Illeheath’s standard attacks against enemies with debuffs to increase the crit damage for all her allies, maximum of 3 stacks.

--------------------------------------------

Solveig

Rarity and Class: R Defender

That’s right, we have an R pilot in the S-tier. Solveig is considered to be the best tank/defender in the game. And while she doesn’t have a custom mech of her own. Her Skill 1 gives her party a shield that reduces their damage taken. With a healer in the team, Solveig is practically unkillable. Skill 2 is a passive that boosts the evasion of a teammate every 6 seconds. Skill 3 and Skill 4 increase your HP and damage reduction respectively. Being an R, you’ll be able to get duplicates of her quite often when recruiting. This allows you to fully modify her (max 6 stars)

--------------------------------------------

A Rank Pilots

Bernadette

Rarity and Class: SSR Demolisher

One of the upper tier DPS units currently available. Like other prominent SSR and SR pilots in this tier list, she’ll get additional/ improved effects to her skills when she’s piloting her custom mech.

Skill 1 summons a hellhound head that deals multi-hit fire damage to enemies in front of her while also boosting Bernadette’s attack rate for a few seconds. With the custom mech suit activation effect, this skill also inflicts DoT (damage over time) Burn that deals a small percentage of her total ATK per second for 5 seconds. This skill is short ranged but will deal devastating damage if enemies are caught in it.

Skill 2 increases her crit chance; with the custom mech activation effect, attacking a debuffed enemy has a chance of triggering her Skill 4. Skill 4 is a passive that gives a chance that her standard attacks deal higher damage.

Finally, her Skill 3 increases her damage for a few seconds whenever she lands a critical hit. With her custom mech activation effect, this skill will also improve her crit damage.

--------------------------------------------

Viola

Rarity and Class: SR Bomber

Viola is the second best healer in the game (after Shmily) so don’t hesitate to invest in her just in case you didn’t get Shmily. She doesn’t have a custom mech yet so you’ll have to make do with her vanilla skill effects. Healers are hard to come by in the game so if you’re having issues clearing a particular map or content because your team keeps getting wiped out, consider bringing her. Her downsides are her slow energy recharge and attack rate.

Her Skill 1 is her main source of damage while healing her allies based on a percentage of their max HP. Skill 4 is her other source of healing, giving her critical hits a chance to heal a small percentage of all allies’ HP that scales off Viola’s ATK. Her Skill 2 passive increases her crit chance while Skill 3 increases her attack rate. Giving her weapons with high fire rate and parts that boosts her critical hit chance will give her more opportunity to proc heals with her Skill 4. Alternatively, you can also give her mech parts that focuses on improving her energy recharge so she can use her Skill 1 more often.

--------------------------------------------

Natasha

Rarity and Class: SR Bomber

Natasha’s main strength lies in her party-wide, offensive buffs. She has access to her own custom mech so having her pilot it will allow her to apply additional/improved effects to her teammates. Skill 1 deals damage to a large AoE while also boosting the damage of all allies. With her custom mech activation effect on, this damage boost is increased even further while also increasing the chance of Natasha’s Skill 4 to trigger. (See below)

Skill 3 is a passive that simply increases Natasha and her teammates’ attack rates. Skill 4 gives her standard attacks a chance to boost a random teammate’s damage for a few seconds. With her custom mech activation effect, (Northern Wrath) the chance of boosting and the damage increase value is increased even further. Natasha is an incredible unit early on, especially when you still don’t have other reliable units to help you clear the earlier content. As you gain access to better units that will fit your team composition (like Shmily) for example, you can swap Natasha as necessary.

--------------------------------------------

Sumora

Rarity and Class: SSR Defender

As a SSR tank, it’s somewhat disappointing that she’s even outranked by a R pilot (Solveig). However, this doesn’t mean that Sumora is bad in any way. Her default skills makes her already an amazing tank but will perform even better with the additional effects when piloting her custom mech (Steel Fortress). She’ll start as an A-tier but if you’re able to unlock her Skill 3 and Skill 4 while also managing to let her pilot her custom mech, she’ll be easily a S-tier defender because she does that role very well.

Her Skill 1 deploys a protective shield that reduces the damage taken by her and all allies within it for 5 seconds, while also providing them with movement speed boost. If she’s piloting her custom mech (Steel Fortress), the custom mech activation effect will further increase these effects (up to 90% damage reduction and 30% movement speed boost at skill level 5.

Her passive Skill 2 automatically activates every 15 seconds, reducing incoming damage to her for 10 seconds. This gives her nearly full uptime of damage reduction. With the custom mech activation effect, she’ll be able to resist even more damage while also taking aggro from enemies inflicting standard attacks.

Skill 3 triggers whenever an enemy attacks, reducing the attacker’s damage dealt by a certain percentage for a few seconds. (This doesn’t stack) With the custom mech activation effect, the attacker’s damage will be further decreased while also lowering their crit chance.

Finally, if you manage to get her to 5-stars and unlock the 4th skill, she’ll become near indestructible if her HP falls below 10%. The skill grants her a shield that absorbs damage equal to the percentage of her max health for a few seconds. With the custom mech activation effect, any damage absorbed by the shield will heal Sumora even more.

--------------------------------------------

Murasaki

Rarity and Class: SSR Defender

Considered as the second best defender after Solveig, Murasaki is an interesting tank to begin with. Like the other pilots in this list, her skills will have additional effects if she’s piloting her custom mech, Arcidia. She doesn’t have the outstanding damage reduction capabilities of other defenders but she makes up for it with some interesting skills, as listed below.

Skill 1 erects a barrier that reflects damage based on her current HP while also reducing the damage taken by the team for a small amount. The amount of damage reflected back will be further increased with the custom mech activation effect active.

Skill 2 is a passive skill that increases her HP by default. With the custom mech activation effect, the skill will increase her HP even further while giving her a permanent damage reduction. The health boost and damage reduction values will increase by leveling up this skill.

Skill 3 is another passive that gives her additional damage reduction when her HP goes below a certain threshold. With the custom mech activation effect and when hitting targets with standard attacks, there’s a small chance that the target will get its damage reduced for a few seconds.

Finally, Skill 4 is an interesting change on her kit so far. This skill gives her a damage boost by default. However, with the custom mech activation effect active, the skill boosts her damage and crit chance of all her teammates as well. Additionally, whenever she’s hit by enemy attacks, she’ll gain a “So Annoying” stack (every 2 seconds). If this stack reaches 15, she’ll release a shockwave that will stun enemies around her.

--------------------------------------------

Aya Kujou

Rarity and Class: SSR Striker

Aya may have underwhelming potential damage if you compare her to hard hitters like Taysia and Rin but she’s still a force to be reckoned with. However, her potential shines after unlocking her Skill 3 and Skill 4. Aya has a custom mech, Ronin, but she doesn’t seem to have a custom mech activation bonus. This is most likely because you can easily farm parts for Ronin through the “Shadow of Corbero” event.

Skill 1 allows her to deal damage to enemies in front of her while also boosting her damage for a few seconds. (Unfortunately, the measly 433% damage at skill level 5 is disappointing, if you compare her to Rin or Taysia who can reach 1000% damage with less effort) Skill 2 is a passive skill that simply boosts her attack by a significant amount (up to +25% at skill level 5).

Skill 3 gives her standard attacks a 30% chance to boost her crit chance by 50% for 15 seconds (skill level 5). This complements her Skill 4 which boosts her energy recharge by 50% for 20 seconds (skill level 5) whenever she lands a critical hit.

With Skill 3 and Skill 4 active, Aya will be able to quickly build her energy gauge and use her Skill 1 more often, somewhat compensating for her abysmal damage multiplier. Nevertheless, she’s a straightforward striker who’s worth investing in if you don’t have other top tier strikers in your team. (Aside from being a top-tier waifu material)

--------------------------------------------

Nia

Rarity and Class: SSR Sniper

Nia is the only SSR sniper at the moment and her role as a backline DPS unit is pretty straightforward. She can deal long-range damage that can pierce through multiple units in a straight line while occasionally stunning them, leaving them open for your teammates’ attacks. Like the other pilots in this list, her skills will have additional effects if she’s piloting her custom mech, Nematode Outsider.

Skill 1 allows her to fire a massive laser that deals penetrating damage to enemies in a single line while also boosting her damage and accuracy. With the custom mech activation effect, this attack deals even more damage while boosting her damage and crit damage. Skill 2 boosts her attack by default. With the custom mech activation effect on, her standard attacks will deal additional piercing damage with a chance to stun enemies.

Skill 3 has some niche uses; this increases her crit chance proportional to her lost HP. If she’s not getting damaged that much in the backline, you won’t be able to feel this skill’s benefits. Skill 4 just boosts her damage. She gets a crit damage boost with the custom mech activation effect active.

Nia is a reliable, backline DPS that can rack up some pretty good damage numbers. Her kit may be straightforward and uninteresting, but she’s a good example of why simplicity is efficient.

--------------------------------------------

Aita

Rarity and Class: SSR Demolisher

Aita is a bounty-only unit so the chances of getting her are incredibly slim, since you’ll only have 20 bounty attempts per day. The stage where you can farm for her also gives parts for her custom mech so if you’re lucky enough to eventually get her, you’ll most likely have the complete parts for her custom mech, Swift.

Her Skill 2 gives her entire team a crit chance passive boost. Skill 4 allows her to gain a crit chance buff (stackable 3 times) every time a random ally gets hit by a standard enemy attack. When her HP is 70%, her entire team gets a 20% damage boost.

That concludes our tier list for Final Gear. This tier list is based on the game's 1.21 version and will be subject to change, as the developers add more pilots and content to the game.
