Jewel Guide

Darkness Rises is a dark fantasy action RPG that brings players in a world threatened by a massive demonic invasion. Players take control of legendary heroes to decimate the demonic forces in a smooth, fast-paced, action-packed combat. As your character grows stronger, so are the challenges he/she has to face in the end-game content. In our Jewels guide, we will discuss how to use Jewels and embed them to your equipment, further increasing your character’s power.

Jewels are special stones that you can insert to your weapons and armor pieces to increase their stats and your power. While they don’t take up gear slots, they will occupy the Jewel Sockets instead. You can equip up to 2 jewels per weapon or equipment piece. You also need to unequip the jewels you want to fuse or upgrade.

Jewels also come in grades. Higher tier jewels will have a significantly higher base stat, which will matter a lot since jewels can’t be enhanced. Thankfully, there are two methods of improving your jewels as listed below.

Jewel Fusion

Fusing Jewels allows you to use other jewels (regardless of type) as fodder, to produce a higher ranked jewel with the same type as the main jewel you’ve selected. So for example, you can select a B-rank weapon jewel, feed it with armor or accessory jewels so you can fuse it to become an A-rank weapon jewel.

The quality of the fodder jewels will affect the Fusion gauge in the lower-left corner. Thankfully, the game will not allow you to continue with the fusion if the gauge is not full. The amount and quality of the fodder will also increase as you try to fuse higher rank jewels. For example, normal (unranked) jewels will require 3 other jewels of the same rank to become a Rank D jewel. Rank D jewels will need approximately 3 Rank D and 3 normal jewels to get fused to Rank C.

The fusion result can also come in two varieties: Success! or Great Success! The former produces the expected higher grade while the latter produces a jewel with higher grade and rarity.

Jewel Upgrade

Upgrading jewels is a straightforward process. You’ll need 5 exact copies of the same jewel to increase its rank. However, I recommend avoiding doing this for specific jewels, especially those that complement your character’s class. It’s better to have multiple copies of those jewels you want and just use other jewels as fodder.

Jewel Fusion and Jewel Upgrade are very beneficial processes that you should always do whenever you have jewels to spare.
