Darkness Rises is a dark fantasy action RPG that brings players in a world threatened by a massive demonic invasion. Players take control of legendary heroes to decimate the demonic forces in a smooth, fast-paced, action-packed combat. Skills and stats aside, weapons and equipment are also an important factor that players should always keep updated and upgraded. In our Gear Enhancement guide, we will discuss the basics of enhancing your gear and costumes to increase your character’s power.

Weapon and Equipment Enhancement is the process of increasing your item’s level. Increasing their level permanently increases their stats as well, making them even more potent in combat. There’s a level cap for each equipment, depending on their rarity. For example, A-rank gears can only be leveled up to LV50 while S-rank gears can be leveled up to LV60. SS-rank gears also have a LV60 cap but they can be Transcended, increasing their stats and increasing the level by 2 levels.

To enhance the equipment, just tap it and select Enhance. If Enhance is not available in the options, it might be because the equipment is already at max level. You can select other weapons/equipment as fodder or enhancement materials. However, using specific enhancement materials called Polish will give x1.5 more enhancement EXP. The quality of the enhancement materials used will also determine the amount of enhancement EXP the gear will receive. You can select up to 40 enhancement items at a time.

Costumes on the other hand can also be enhanced to further increase the stats they’re applying to the character. The only catch however, is that costumes will require other costumes to be used as fodder. Since there are uncommon/rare sources of extra costumes that you can use to increase another gear’s level, enhancing your costumes isn’t as urgent as maintaining the level of your gear.

Enhancement is a straightforward process. Even if you haven’t filled up the enhancement exp gauge, the amount of EXP you’ve injected to the gauge will be retained. Always keep your weapon and equipment properly enhanced.
