How to Change Equipment Traits

Darkness Rises is a dark fantasy action RPG that brings players in a world threatened by a massive demonic invasion. Players take control of legendary heroes to decimate the demonic forces in a smooth, fast-paced, action-packed combat. As your character grows stronger, so are the challenges he/she has to face in the end-game content. In our Equipment Traits guide, we will discuss how to change your equipment traits for a chance to get better stats.

Traits are the actual stats of a weapon, armor, or accessory. These stats are divided into different categories:

* Main Trait (white) - This is the base stat of the gear which directly increases the character’s ATK/DEF/HP

* PvP/PvE Trait (orange gradient) - These stats only take effect if the gear is used in PvE or PvP.

* Unique Trait (Gray) - These traits are effects or stats unique to that particular gear.

* Random Traits - These are random traits will appear either as blue text (for normal traits) or orange (for advanced traits)

If you tap the Traits button on the left side of the gear’s details box, you’ll see the (Change) Traits window as shown below. Here you can use x5 Change Trait Tickets or spend 500 gems for each “roll” or attempt. The results are random and only the random traits on the gear will be changed; the other traits (Main, PvP/PvE, and Unique) will remain intact.

All the possible traits (drawn from a predetermined set of rules) your gear can get from the attempt is displayed on the left side of the screen while the current traits are displayed to the right. This feature is similar to the gacha mechanic; it’s possible that you’ll get stats worse than you currently have or if you’re lucky, you’ll get better stats. Consider your odds and the amount of tickets you have/willing to use.

Thankfully, you have a chance not to save an undesirable trait change by tapping the Recover Traits button. This will give you a chance to roll back your latest trait change. However, the used tickets or gems will not be refunded. Be careful though; if you close the window or exit the game after changing a trait, you will not be able to undo the change.

The number of random traits are determined by the gear’s grade. As such, using the Change Trait mechanic will not add or subtract traits from the gear; the process will only change the traits themselves.

* Normal: No traits

* Rank D: 1 Trait

* Rank C: 1 Trait

* Rank B: 2 Traits

* Rank A: 2 Traits

* Rank S: 3 Traits

You can also apply Trait Change for costumes. Similar to normal gear, the costume’s grade will also determine how many traits it has.

* Rank B: 1 Trait

* Rank A: 1 Trait

* Rank S: 2 Traits
