Darkness Rises Guide

Added:

Darkness Rises is a dark fantasy action RPG that brings players in a world threatened by a massive demonic invasion. Players take control of legendary heroes to decimate the demonic forces in a smooth, fast-paced, action-packed combat. Skills and stats aside, weapons and equipment are also an important factor that players should always keep updated and upgraded. In our Gear Refinement guide, we will discuss the basics of Gear Refinement and how it can help to further increase your character’s power.

What is Gear Refinement

You can refine Rank S/+/++ gear to make them even stronger by “feeding” it with refining stones, old gears, even polishes. Refined gears will have permanent stat boosts and they will have a blue number in the lower right corner of their portraits. As you refine your weapons, they can even acquire special effects.

How to Refine Gear

To refine your gear, you can do it directly from the Gear window or via the main menu > Gear Development > Blacksmith > Refine Gear. As you select the material items that will be used as fodder, take note of the success rate gauge in the lower-left corner. Anything less than 100% will have a chance to fail. Failed refinement won’t have any harm to your main gear but the gold and all fodder selected will be gone.

Refining Stones are special stones meant for this function. They provide a higher success rate. You can even mix them with unwanted gear and polishes. The higher the refinement level, the more expensive it can be to refine it and will require a lot more materials. Since you can only select 40 items at a time for fodders, you’ll eventually have to resort to using the best quality refining stones to keep the gauge going.

Refining Stones can be obtained from reward chests or you can craft them as well via the Blacksmith menu, using the materials listed below.

Transferring Refinement

Since refining gears can be expensive and resource-heavy, having the option to transfer it to another gear is a welcome feature. This process will also cost a significant amount of gold and Transfer Fossils, which are incredibly rare on their own. You can only transfer refinement to max level S-rank gears.

Gear Refinement

From LV1 to LV5, the material and transferred refinement levels will be the same. However, the exact refinement level will not be carried over for LV6 or above. Please refer to the chart below to know the post-transfer refinement level you’ll get from the material gear’s refinement level.

Material Refine LV Transferred Refine LV
6 5
7 5
8 6
9 7
10 8
11 8
12 9
13 9
14 10
15 11

As you can see, gear refinement is a beneficial feature that you should always apply to your best gears whenever possible. Don’t hesitate to use refinement transfer just in case you’ll be replacing your gears to avoid starting from scratch.
