Last Updated:

Blue Archive is a military strategy RPG that takes place in the academy city of Kivotos where players take the role of an advisor to the Federal Investigation Club (Schale) and will be tasked in resolving a myriad of incidents that happen within the academy city. Aside from the standard story campaign and Mission stages, there are also other battle modes available in Blue Archive. In our Tactical Challenge guide, we will cover how this mode works and what rewards you can obtain from them.

What is Tactical Challenge

This is the game’s PvP content where you can put your team against another player’s team. This feature is unlocked after clearing Mission 6-1 (Normal). Your rank will go up if you win against another player with a higher rank. Thankfully, your rank doesn’t go down even if you lose or challenge other players with weaker ranking.

You can fight other players up to 5x daily by using Tickets. These tickets are replenished daily as part of the game’s scheduled daily reset. You can buy additional tickets by exchanging pyroxene.

Tactical Challenge Basics

In the Tactical Challenge screen, you’ll find a Time and a Daily Reward section right under your player name. The Time Reward is (similar to the Cafe facility) a passive credit generator. The max amount that this screen can hold is 1 million credits. On the other hand, the Daily Reward can only be claimed once a day and you have to wait for the refresh counter to reset.

You can set a “defense” team that other players can fight. You can review any attempts against your team by tapping the Battle History and check if your defense team is ideal.

Tactical Challenge

To start a battle, select an opponent listed on the right. Next, you have to confirm the formation. You have a timer while doing this so it’s better to have your PvP team ready. During the actual battle, you can set the game to fight for you automatically. However, if you prefer to control the girls during battle, that’s possible as well.

Tactical Challenge

If you’re not a fan of PvP, this mode is completely optional. Competitive players on the other hand should be prepared to encounter players with a team composed of top-tier characters. These players have serious time and investment behind them. Nevertheless, the rewards are still worth it.
