Attack and Defense Types Guide
More Blue Archive
Blue Archive is a military strategy RPG that takes place in the academy city of Kivotos where players take the role of an advisor to the Federal Investigation Club (Schale) and will be tasked in resolving a myriad of incidents that happen within the academy city. Students play a pivotal role in the game as they're your individual units with various roles, strengths, weaknesses, and of course, personality. In our Attack and Defense Types Guide, we will discuss the different damage types in the game and how they’ll affect the flow of combat.
Are you somewhat confused how the attack type and defense type stats work? You’ve come to the right place. In our Attack and Defense Types Guide, we will discuss the different damage types and defense types in the game, as well as their effect on the overall flow of combat.
Combat is an integral part of the game’s progression and experience. Aside from knowing the different student roles and types, you also need to consider the different types of damage (attack type) and armor (defense type). This way, you’ll be able to deploy characters that can inflict increased damage against the enemy’s defense type and vice versa. This is somewhat similar to a “rock-paper-scissors” scenario where one type is stronger / weak to the other. These attack or defense types have their own color coding as well, for easier identification.
Here are some quick tips about the different attack types and their effect on different damage types. Please refer to the chart below for more information.
* Explosive (Red) attacks are effective against enemies with Light defense
* Piercing (Yellow) attacks are effective against Heavy defenses.
* Mystic (Blue) attacks are effective against Special defenses
* Siege (Purple) attacks are effective against Structures.
Similar to weapons and roles, a student’s Attack and Defense Type attributes can’t be modified or changed. You can find these attributes in the second row of the student’s Basic Info (profile screen). It’s generally recommended to include students with different attack types in your normal team composition so that they can deal damage to any type of enemies they encounter.
There are also certain missions where you’ll have to stick with an entire team with the same attack type (for example Bounty Missions and Total Assault).
