Zio and the Magic Scrolls is an idle-RPG game with gacha mechanics where you’ll have to form a team of capable heroes and villains to tackle the various story stages and content the game has to offer. To aid you in your quests and journey, shops and other establishments are readily available to cater your needs. Lucas Lab is one such facility and visiting this establishment regularly will help you a lot in the long run. In our Lucas Lab Guide, we will discuss this facility’s function and value to your gameplay experience.

Lucas Lab allows you to purchase upgrades applicable to all of your heroes, heroes of the same class, Bono’s Bag, etc by delivering the required materials. You can access this facility by tapping the Kingdom option in the bottom of the menu. The materials you can obtain will come from the Dungeon Exploration in Adventure Mode. As your research level increases, the quality of the required materials will increase as well.

You’ll start off with two fields: Common Research 1 and 2. Common Research 3 is locked and will become available after reaching LV8 for the 5 class research fields (Hunter, Tanker, Magician, Supporter, and Fighter Research) The levels of the class/type research fields can be reset and all materials used in research will be refunded. The level of Common Research fields (1-3) cannot be researched.

While Common Research fields apply upgrades to all heroes, you shouldn’t ignore the class-specific fields as well. These fields not only provide permanent stat boosts to all heroes belonging to the same class, they also receive activated buffs like bonus damage reduction for tanks or bonus mana restoration for magicians. To view these effects in detail, simply tap the research field and the research level.

As your research levels increase, the more higher-quality materials will be required for the next research level upgrades. While you can still farm these in Dungeon Exploration mode, you should also take advantage of the Crafting option. This allows you to use up the lower-quality materials and transform them into higher quality ones. This is useful since you'll tend to gather more lower-quality materials when farming.

As you can see, research upgrades provide long-term and permanent buffs and stat boosts to your units so always farm materials in Dungeon Exploration stages and upgrade your research whenever possible.
