[img][/img] Zio and the Magic Scrolls is an idle-RPG game with gacha mechanics where you’ll have to form a team of capable heroes and villains to tackle the various story stages and content the game has to offer. In our Tier List, we’ll try to give you an idea which characters are worth adding to your party. Take note however, that while you can use the same party members in Story or PvP, you’ll need to have other powerful allies that you can rotate as necessary, especially when tackling Dungeon Explorations or various floors in the Demon King’s Tower.

Disclaimer

Please be reminded that Tier Lists are not “definite” measures of the character’s strength and potential. There are a lot of factors to be considered like the characters’ availability, their synergy with your team, their utility, equipment, etc. As such, please use our tier lists as what they’re meant to be - a guide. Use tier lists to help you decide whether you’ll want to invest resources and time to build a character. At the end of the day, it’s you who will decide which ones you’ll use based on preference and performance .

------------------------------

The game’s roster of heroes are divided into four types: God, Demon, Human, and Immortal. Unlike other types, immortals have a fifth skill that can be increased to LV10 (compared to the normal skill level ceiling of 3).

Furthermore, among these hero types, we also have five different classes that determine the hero’s role in the battlefield. We have Hunters, Tankers, Supporters, Fighters, and Magicians. Furthermore, heroes are divided into two damage attribute types: magical and physical.

Like what we usually do here in Appgamer, we will just feature Rank S and Rank A heroes so we can focus on covering them in detail. Please refer to the Tier List below and our short analysis/description for each. The game allows you to see a preview of all characters, even those you haven’t recruited yet. You’ll see the characters at their full strength, in their max level and maxed out skill levels.

S-Tier

These heroes are exceptional units that can greatly help you build a solid team for clearing most of the game’s single-player content, as well as PvP. If you’re rerolling, these are the characters that you should try getting, whenever their banner is available.

Diogoram

Max Combat Power: 165389

Type and Attribute: Immortal, Magic

Role: Supporter

Equipment Type: Cloth

As a supporter, she has a potent skill (Blessings of Nature) that boosts all her allies’ ATK speed, movement speed, mana recovery, and even clearing all their debuffs. She can heal allies, bind enemies and absorb their HP, and has a passive HP recovery per second during the battle.

Her Unique Ability decreases the movement speed and mana recovery of nearby enemies. At LV30, Diogoram’s unique ability also restores her mana per second for each enemy affected by her mana.

Diogoram is also the legendary Green Dragon and an Immortal type, which gives her access to a 5th skill called The Power of Diogoram. At max level, this exclusive skill generates a shield equivalent to 40% of Diogoram’s max HP at the start of battle, reduces the damage the party receives by 10% until the end of battle, and automatically replenishes the mana of the team’s highest HP member every 5 seconds. That said, Diogoram’s presence on the field can be quite a game-changer.

Exavius

Max Combat Power: 164748

Type and Attribute: Immortal, Magic

Role: Magician

Equipment Type: Cloth

Exavius is an Immortal Magician that overwhelms enemies with his powerful flames. He’s also the Fire Dragon, which gives him access to a fifth, unique skill. His skill 1 blasts enemies in an AoE which also deals damage-over-time. This skill even decreases the DEF of all enemies in the affected area. His Skill 2 deals damage to all enemies and silences them for a few seconds while his Skill 3 is a single-target attack that stuns the target for a few seconds.

His skill 4 is quite interesting since he’ll gain a different kind of buff depending on where you place him in the field. When he’s in the frontline, he’ll have a damage reduction bonus. When he’s placed at the back, he’ll have an ATK increase instead. That said, it’s recommended to place him in the backrow since he’s a Magician anyway and will serve as your team’s primary DPS unit.

Exavius’ Unique Skill is straightforward: all enemies’ physical ATK is reduced while all allies’ magical ATK is increased by a certain amount. Like other immortal units in the game, Exavius is quite overpowered and his presence alone is enough to give your team a significant advantage.

Gallistos

Max Combat Power: 166804

Type and Attribute: Immortal, Physic

Role: Hunter

Equipment Type: Leather

Gallisto is a very potent physical attacker, capable of shredding through enemies with ease. His Skill 1 is a 4-hit attack that deals damage to nearby enemies, with the enemy who gets hit by the 4th hit will suffer from additional DoT (damage-over-time). His skill 2 attacks an enemy 4 times; at skill lv3, this skill can even stun enemies. If an enemy is killed, Skill 3 allows his skill to teleport to the next target and deal higher damage. Finally, Skill 4 increases Gallisto’s attack when attacking shield-bearing enemies.

Gallistos is one of the three immortals in the game as of this writing, which gives him access to a fifth skill. This skill buffs the physical ATK of all allies; this buff is further increased if you have 3 or more physical type heroes in the same team as Gallistos. His unique ability allows Gallisto to deal even more damage to targets that have lower HP ratio than him.

Outside his fifth skill, Gallisto doesn’t provide party-wide buffs and benefits so his impact isn’t that comparative to Exavius and Diogoram. However, he’s still quite a powerful attacker so getting him will still have significant improvement to your team’s damage output alone.

Tomie

Max Combat Power: 161319

Type and Attribute: Demon, Magic

Role: Supporter

Equipment Type: Cloth

Tomie is a solid support unit that’s capable of healing her allies, while also providing increased utility thanks to her dolls. Skill 1 heals her allies HP over time while also boosting their ATK. Skill 2 allows her to deal damage to 1 enemy randomly, then forces it under Tomie’s control for a few seconds. Controlled enemies cannot use their skills but their ATK speed will be increased.

Skill 3 allows Tomie to summon 2 dolls that can perform basic attacks while also replenishing Tomie’s HP at a small percentage. These dolls are immune from enemy damage; one doll will disappear if Tomie’s HP goes below 70%, and at 40% HP, all dolls will disappear. The dolls can be summoned again if needed. Finally, Tomie can attach a self-destructive doll to an enemy, dealing high damage and mana reduction.

Her Unique Ability provides different effects as you increase its level. The first effect lowers the mana of the controlled enemy, the second effect gives Tomie damage reduction when her dolls are summoned, and lastly, the HP requirement where the dolls disappear have been reduced to 50% and 20% respectively.

Won

Max Combat Power: 161002

Type and Attribute: God, Physic

Role: Supporter

Equipment Type: Leather

Won’s Skill 1 (Intensive Healing) allows him to link with an ally with the lowest HP, restoring the target’s Mana and HP based on Won’s ATK value for a few seconds. At skill lv2, the target even gains an ATK bonus while the link is active. Skill 2 provides a party-wide heal based on Won’s ATK as well. Skill 3 protects Won from abnormal status, allowing him to reduce his hp by 10% to instantly remove the status ailment. Finally, skill 4 damages nearby enemies and lowers their accuracy - this seems to be Won’s only offensive skill.

Won’s Unique Ability revolves around his Intensive Healing skill. The first 20 levels gives the linked ally additional damage reduction, while at LV30, this unique ability grants a shield to the linked ally, based on Won’s ATK value. Won is a wonderful supporter that will surely keep your allies alive. His Intensive Healing skill is his kit’s bread-and-butter.

Hrachas

Max Combat Power: 160307

Type and Attribute: Demon, Physic

Role: Tanker

Equipment Type: Plate Metal

Hrachas is an outstanding tank, thanks to his high survivability and staying power. Skill 1 allows him to recover HP (based on his current max HP) for a few seconds. Skill 2 gives him a once-per-battle chance to automatically replenish HP while boosting his ATk and DEF for a few seconds if his HP falls below 1. Skill 3 allows him to generate a shield based on his max HP for a few seconds while his 4th skill permanently increases his max HP by a considerable amount.

His unique ability is centered around his skill 1 (Infinite Regenerative Power). At LV10 and 20, he gains damage reduction bonus after activating Skill 1. At LV30, this ability allows him to generate a powerful shield when using Skill 1.

Mei

Max Combat Power: 165380

Type and Attribute: Human, Physic

Role: Fighter

Equipment Type: Leather

Mai is an exceptional DPS unit with access to powerful attacks and amazing self-preservation effects. Her Skill 1 (War Declaration) recovers her HP while dealing high damage to nearby enemies. Skill 2 deals high damage to enemies in front and stuns them for a few seconds. Skill 3 (Counterattack) gives Mei a chance to return any damage from attackers, while reducing the damage she receives. Finally, Skill 4 allows her to taunt up to 2 random enemies while also generating a shield based on her max HP.

Mei’s unique ability revolves around her Skill 3 (Counterattack). LV10 - 20 of the skill gives her a higher chance to stun the target, while at max level, Mei receives no damage when counterattacking. Due to her flexibility and superb damage output, Mei is a solid pick for almost any team.

----------------------------------------

A-Tier

These are great heroes that will also serve well in most team compositions. Their skills are comparable to S-Tier characters so don’t hesitate building them if ever you’re able to summon them.

Sylvia

Max Combat Power: 157201

Type and Attribute: Human, Magic

Role: Magician

Equipment Type: Cloth

Sylvia is a straightforward DPS with respectable damage output. Sylvia’s Skill 1 (Meteor) deals damage to enemies 3 times, which inflicts additional burn damage over time. Skill 2 detonates one enemy that also damages nearby enemies. If the detonated enemy has the Burn status, the target will also be stunned. Skill 3 is a straight Crit Damage boost while Skill 4 increases her skill damage whenever she uses a mana skill.

Her unique ability boosts her ability to inflict Burn to enemies (which will work well with her Skill 2). LV10 increases the chance to inflict Burn and increases its damage. LV20 increases her Mana restoration when attacking a burning enemy, and at LV30 mana skill damage is also increased.

Morrison

Max Combat Power: 160649

Type and Attribute: Human, Physic

Role: Hunter

Equipment Type: Cloth

Morrison is a physical DPS that’s capable of attacking the enemy’s backline with his Skill 3 (Colorless Flash). This skill enables him to teleport behind the enemy farthest from him; as soon as that enemy falls, he’ll move to the next target. Morrison’s unique ability is centered in his Skill 3 (Colorless Flash) which allows him to reduce the enemy’s mana with his basic ATKs and reducing the damage he’ll receive whenever he uses the skill.

His Skill 1 allows him to deal electric damage to nearby enemies while reducing their mana. Skill 2 deals lightning damage and stuns while Skill 4 allows him to build up “shock stacks” whenever he uses a skill. When it reaches 5 stacks, the enemy becomes stunned.

Kueno

Max Combat Power: 161761

Type and Attribute: God, Magic

Role: Supporter

Equipment Type: Cloth

Kueno is an all-around support unit who can consistently heal while also providing buffs and even protective shields if he overheals. He’s a reliable healer that can keep your team up with his wide array of healing skills and buffs. Skill 1 replenishes his party’s HP over time while increasing their DEF. Skill 2 heals nearby allies based on Kueno’s ATK stat while also increasing their ATK speed. This is Keuno’s skill that heals the highest amount of HP, especially at higher levels.

Skill 3 allows him to convert a portion of excess healing amount into a shield for the target. This skill is also valuable since at LV2 it increases the recovery amount of all healing skills, while LV3 also converts the excess healing amount to the target’s DEF. Finally, his Skill 4 replenishes the HP of his ally with the lowest HP, prioritizing them and most likely saving them just in time for his other skills to kick in.

Kueno’s unique ability enables an automatic HP recovery to an ally with the lowest HP. Increasing this ability’s level increases the amount of HP healed but the duration (6 seconds) remains the same.

Rudemila

Max Combat Power: 159229

Type and Attribute: Human, Physic

Role: Tanker

Equipment Type: Plate Metal

Rudemila is a solid tank unit with considerable offensive capacities. Skill 1 deals heavy damage to nearby enemies and stuns them. Skill 2 deals high damage to nearby enemies and creates a shield that scales off her ATK value. Skill 3 reduces the damage she receives from skill damage and finally, Skill 4 reduces the mana of her attacker when she takes damage.

Rudemila’s unique ability further enhances her survivability whenever she uses an activated skill. By default, she recovers a bit of HP but at LV10 and 20, her DEF is boosted. At ability LV30, the cooldown of her activated skill is reduced by 2 seconds.

Petnak

Max Combat Power: 161033

Type and Attribute: God, Magic

Role: Supporter

Equipment Type: Cloth

Petnak is another reliable support unit that relies heavily on healing, mana recovery, and buffing your team. Her skill 1 increases all allies ATK, ATK speed, and movement speed. At lv3, this skill even restores 150 mana to all allies. Skill 2 recovers the HP of her ally with the lowest HP. The amount of HP recovered is scaled on her ATK. This skill even replenishes the target’s mana at lv3.

Skill 3 allows her to trigger a massive heal over time whenever she takes damage greater than 10% of her HP. This HP recovery amount is further increased, up to 40% at skill lv3. Skill 4 is a special area that gets activated once per battle, at the start of the fight. All enemies in the area will get their powers reduced while allies in the field will have a damage reduction buff.

Finally, Petnak’s unique ability reduces the moving speed and TK speed of enemies entering her special area.

Narfume

Max Combat Power: 157351

Type and Attribute: Demon, Magic

Role: Magician

Equipment Type: Cloth

As a temptress, Narfume lacks the crowd control capability of other magicians but she makes up for it with a unique set of skills. However, she’s quite efficient with her abilities. Skill 1 enchants nearby enemies while dealing damage to them. Enchanted enemies cannot use their skills and will turn them against their allies. Skill 2 allows her to link with an enemy, dealing damage over time while keeping the linked enemy stunned. However, the downside of this skill is that Narfume cannot use other skills while this skill is active.

Skill 3 decreases the ATK speed of 1 random enemy while increasing Narfume’s own ATK speed. Finally, Skill 4 gives her basic attacks to increase her mana, which in turn will allow her to trigger her Skill 1 (Enchant) Narfume’s unique ability further complements her Enchant skill. This ability inflicts additional damage to enchanted enemies. At max level, Narfume even recovers a large portion of the damage dealt by this ability.

Michel

Max Combat Power: 159347

Type and Attribute: Demon, Magic

Role: Magician

Equipment Type: Cloth

Michel is your generic magic DPS unit who can inflict solid damage through his own ATK buffs while reducing his enemies’ DEF. Be warned though, this simplicity is quite potent. Skill 1 can deal high damage to enemies while decreasing their DEF for a few seconds. Skill 3 is a straight ATK buff to himself while Skill 4 further increases his own ATK per dead ally. (Up to 40% at max level and if he’s left alone).

Skill 2 is a curse that detonates after a few seconds, dealing high damage to the cursed target. If the cursed enemy dies, the curse is then transferred to another enemy. His unique ability further enhances Skill 2 by lowering the DEF of the cursed target for a few seconds. At ability lv20, cursed enemies’ movement speed is also reduced. At max level, the cooldown of Skill 2 and its detonation trigger will be reduced by 1 second.
