Hero Rarity and Grades

There are four hero rarities or grades in the game. Rarity/Grades determine the character’s max level cap and their potential.
R: LV30
SR: LV40
SSR: LV50
UR: LV60+
When drawing new characters from banners or exchanging for heroes from the shop, the highest rarity you can get is SSR. UR can only be achieved by evolving a SSR unit. Limit-breaking further allows an UR unit to have a higher level cap.
Don’t fret even if you only have R or SR units; their rarity (and level cap) can be improved by Evolving them. Evolution consumes resources and gold so choose carefully which characters you want to evolve. Also, evolution resets the character’s level to 1 but this is but a minor inconvenience for a permanent stat boost and combat class improvement.
