Characters in this tier are still sought after. Thankfully, most of them are quite accessible through several methods. Nevertheless, these are still priority characters that you should include to your team as soon as you get them.

[REVERSE] Guardian Elizabeth and Hawk

S Tier Heroes

This single-unit duo have reliable support effects with competent offensive capabilities. Liz and Hawk bring several buffs to the party without wasting a turn casting them. These buffs are automatically activated whenever they use a skill or just trigger a condition. This cleansing/buffing effect tandem works quite well in most scenarios.

Their offensive skillFire Breath” deals damage to a single target and will apply the Amplify effect to Liz and Hawk. Amplify adds +30% damage to the attack for every active buff on themselves. With several stacked buffs, expect a large damage boost from this attack.

The buff skill, “Digest” adds a Solidify (Resistance +30% for 3 turns; stackable) effect to a single ally at SR1. If the targeted ally has a debuff, that debuff is removed and replaced by another Solidify effect stacked over the current buff. At SR2, Solidify can be applied to all allies with the same cleansing and rebuffing effect. At SR3, Solidify is applied to all allies, cleansed out of their debuffs but this time 1 additional Solidify stack is added per every debuff removed. With these buffs active, their Fire Breath skill will deal a lot of damage.

Their ultimate “Rush Hawk” deals massive Charge (ignores defense) damage to a single target. With Meliodas as an associated hero, this unit gains +280 attack and access to the “Drop Mama” combination ultimate, which still deals massive Charge damage to a single target but with a higher damage modifier.

Their Unique skillTime for Scraps”, increases the HP of all allies by 12% per Debuff on the hero. This works hand in hand with Digest. Whenever enemies debuff Liz and Hawk, this effect gets activated and they can further up the ante by removing the debuffs with Digest.

[GODSPEED KNIGHT] Guardian Jericho

S Tier Heroes

Jericho is a reliable DPS unit that sits in the upper-mid and lower-high tier range. While she’s not a game-breaker or one-trick pony, her consistency is great to have, especially if you don’t have any reliable DPS-focused heroes in your party.

Her first skill, “Flash Attack” inflicts Weak Point damage to a single target. This effect deals x3 damage to debuffed enemies, making it quite potent if used on the intended target to trigger the effect. Her second skill, “Flash Strike” complements the first skill by damaging a target and inflicting Bleed[/strong] (target suffers 80% of the damage dealt at the end of turn) for two turns.

Her unique skill is Repeated Cuts which increases her crit chance by 10% per hero skill use. Since this is a passive effect, you have a higher chance to further enhance the damage of her ultimate, Silent Split. This ult deals a Spike (x2 Crit Damage increase) to a single target. If you partner her up with Guila, this transforms to the combination attack Chain Slash, which has the same Spike effect but with higher damage.

[THE BOAR SIN OF GLUTTONY] Great Mage Merlin

S Tier Heroes

Merlin is one of the few characters in the game that can cast a damage-absorbing barrier to all allies. She also has access to skills that depletes the target’s ult move gauge orbs and disables a target’s attack skills for 2 turns. While she lacks reliable AoE, she makes it up for it with her utility.

Her 1st skillSpear Explosion” inflicts damage to an enemy and depletes his/her ult move gauge orb by 1. At SR3, this skill removes 3 orbs instead. Her second skill, “Perfect Cube” can be used on everyone in the party by default and will absorb damage based on a percentage of Merlin’s attack rating. As you increase the skill rank, the amount of damage the barrier can absorb will increase but it’s duration (2 turns) will not change.

On the other hand, her unique effect, “Various Samples” isn’t that outstanding. This skill fills the Ultimate Move Gauge of all allies by 1 orb at the start of battle. While it is helpful and will allow your team to use their ultimate move earlier, this is just a one-time effect per battle.

Finally, her ultimate “Exterminate Ray” can deal considerable damage to a single target while also disabling its attack skills for 2 turns. If you partner her up with Arthur, this ult changes to the combination attack “Tornado Sever”, which has the same disable effect and duration but with higher damage.

[TEMPEST] Holy Knight Howzer

S Tier Heroes

Howzer gets a place in the high tier because of his AoE-focused skills that makes him quite desirable for farming teams. His unique effectLeadership Qualities” makes him an ideal party member with an all-human party since this skill increases Human allies' basic stats by 8%.

His first skill, “Rising Storm” inflicts Pierce damage (x3 Pierce Rate increase) to all enemies. His second AoE skill, “Super Cyclone”, deals Sever damage (x2 Crit Chance increase) to all enemies as well. These two skills are consistent and reliable, especially for softer enemies in farming stages.

His ultimate move, “Rising Tornado” is also another AoE attack that not only damages all enemies, but also decreases their skill ranks and depletes their ult move gauge orbs depending on the number of skill rank decrease instances. When partnered with Gilthunder, this becomes the combination move “Dragon Castle”, with the same effect but with increased damage.

[CHIVALROUS] Holy Knight Gilthunder

S Tier Heroes

For an SR unit, Gilthunder boasts a decent AoE skill, attack buff for all allies, ability to deal the Shock status effect, and passively increase all allies defense-related stats by 30% in PvP, thanks to his unique effect “The Lightning King's Magic”.

His first skill, simply called “Lightning”, inflicts Rupture (double damage to buffed enemies) damage to all enemies. His second skill is a support called “Lightning Power” which boosts the attack stat of all allies by 30%, 40%, and 60%, for two turns, with the SR3 variant lasting 3 turns. Finally, his ultimate “Lightning King Decapitation” inflicts heavy damage to a single target and shocks the target for 4 turns. Shock[/strong] is a debuff that deals 30% of the inflicted damage to the target at the end of every turn.

Since Gilthunder has no combination attack partner, you can partner him up with Guila for an attack boost. If you want him to be a bit on a defensive side, Griamore can boost his defense stat or Howzer which increases his HP instead.

[REINCARNATION OF REVENGE] Fairy Helbram

S Tier Heroes

Much like King, Helbram also has access to Petrify. However, the wide scope of his skill set makes him a very desirable unit for PvP-focused teams. Another notable downside about this hero is that his SR1 skills lack any punch or effects. Only when you’ve combined them to SR2 or above do his skills become reliable. His unique ability, “Ancient Magic”, increases his basic stats by 5% per surviving ally. Overall, his skill set is going to be very useful in PvP matches, as long as you’re able to draw the necessary skill cards.

His first skill, “Fog Wave” deals decent damage to a single target. At SR2, this also depletes the target’s ultimate move gauge by 1, at SR3 it will deplete 3 orbs instead. Next, his another attack skill “Stone Needle” deals damage to single target again but petrifies him/her for one turn (at SR2) or 2 turns (at SR3)

His ultimate, “Hunter Wisp” can be a game-changer when used at the right time. This damages all enemies and removes their buffs while also cancelling their stances (perfect for those already in Counterattack stance) If you managed to get Gustaf as a partner, this ult changes to the combination attack, “Blizzard Bullet”. It basically has the same effect but higher base damage.
