Bounties

Blue Archive is a military strategy RPG that takes place in the academy city of Kivotos where players take the role of an advisor to the Federal Investigation Club (Schale) and will be tasked in resolving a myriad of incidents that happen within the academy city. Aside from the standard story campaign and Mission stages, there are also other battle modes available in Blue Archive. In our Bounties guide, we will cover how this mode works and what rewards you can obtain from them.

What are Bounties?

Bounties are special stages where you can farm for skill level up and growth materials. There are three bounty locations available: Overpass, Desert Railroad, and Classroom. You can only clear a stage twice per day. These number of attempts will be refreshed during the game’s scheduled daily reset. Alternatively, you can purchase Bounty tickets from the Shop for 30 pyroxenes each.

Furthermore, once you’ve cleared a stage and earned 3-stars, you can just perform a Sweep to instantly complete the stages and receive the rewards instantly. The rewards get better as you tackle the later stages.

Each of these stages has different rewards but the enemies you’ll face are all the same (Kaitengers) that’s weak against Explosive damage. It might seem logical to just put characters who can deal red (explosive) damage but the tricky part is balancing out two other important factors: the Academy Buff and the Terrain Bonuses. We will discuss that in detail below.

Academy Buff

This is the buff that gets activated passively by including students of the indicated academies in the same unit. Using the screenshot below as an example, if you have 4 Gehenna students in your team and 2 Shanhaijing students, the Gehenna characters will get a 250% stat boost while the other two will get 75% stat boost (and vice versa). The student’s positions and roles don't matter as well. Using the example above, you can have 2 strikers and 2 special Gehenna students and the Academy Buff will still activate.

This buff is nothing to be scoffed at; even with just two characters from the same (recommended) school, they’ll enjoy a significant 75% boost. Since you can only have 6 characters (4 strikers, 2 special) in a unit, you can even settle with a 3-3 setup, giving each student from the same school a 150% stat boost. The Terrain Bonus and Damage Types have an effect as well but you should prioritize forming your teams with this Academy buff in mind.

Since Bounties refresh daily, make clearing all stages part of your daily routine in the game to stock up on those elusive growth and skill up materials.
