In Revived Witch, you get to go through the game’s campaign mode and explore different areas. There will be instances as well where you’ll have enemy encounters, therefore you will need to know how to position your Dolls properly.

In this page, we’ll be checking how you can utilize your Doll’s Formation in order for them to fulfill their roles properly. You will want the best placement of your Dolls in order to succeed in a fight, so let us check the different features you can see from this section.

What is your Team Formation?

One of the buttons that you’ll be able to find in the Hall of Origin is the Formation button. Here, you’ll be able to set up various team compositions that you will want in order for you to use in battle. In Revived Witch, you get to fight opponents with the Dolls that you assign in the field, and they can either be found in the Front, Middle, or Back row.

Deployed Dolls are your first characters to fight in battle
Deployed Dolls are your first characters to fight in battle

Deployed Dolls are your main characters that you’ll use in a fight. Each battle that you start will require you to use 3 dolls that fill each row. The front row is the one who’ll be getting hit most often since they are in the line of fire, while the middle and back row can be targeted by area of effect attacks.

Backup Dolls are your secondary set of characters if ever your Deployed Dolls fall in battle. For example, if a Front Row doll loses all of their HP, the Front Row Backup Doll will take their place. You’ll want to focus on making your Deployed Dolls the strongest first, since you will want to finish a fight with them, and use Backups as your last resort in battle.

Positioning your Dolls: Since there are front, middle, and back rows, you’ll want to position your Dolls accordingly in order for them to fulfill their roles. Here are suggested positions for your Dolls:

  • Front Row: Guardian, Destroyer

  • Middle Row: Assassin, Mage, Witch

  • Back Row: Healer, Compeller, Witch

Team Slots: You have the option to save up to four types of Teams in your formation page. You can edit each team name as well according to your liking, this is useful if you want a specific team for clearing the story, or if you have a team that’s focused for farming stages as well.

  • Element Buff Bonuses

Each Doll comes with a specific element, and you can acquire the following: Mercury, Saltstone, Brimstone, and Aether. The Witch (your main character) is considered to have all elements. Elements work together if you have same elements on your team, here are the buff effects as follows:

  • Deployed Dolls are of the same element: Team Health, ATK & DEF all + 10%

  • Deployed Dolls and backup are of the same element: Team Health, ATK & DEF all + 15%

You can tap on the Element Buff button on the upper left side to see which element combinations you currently have for your team lineup. Even though the Health, ATK, and DEF bonuses are good, this might rather be limiting in terms of your team’s composition. Not all elements have the same classes available, and they come in various strengths as well. So, keep this in mind when making a mono element team.

  • Testing your Formation

The Test Formation button on the lower right side of the interface lets you test out your team versus a dummy. By default, this dummy won’t attack, but you can set the attack options through the interface on the right. You can increase its attack power, and turn the DPS on and off.

Use the Test Formation feature to practice your skill usage

Using the test will help you practice the usage of your skills and timing, especially if you’ll need to play manually and avoid using auto combat. There will be stages in the game later in the game that can be more difficult, therefore you will need to time your skills well.

With the different types of Doll classes available, you’ll want to focus on the best ones on your team in order to have a good formation. You may check our Tier List since we have suggestions for the best characters you can acquire by type there.
