Axie Infinity is a play-to-earn game where players use a team of creatures called Axies in battling other players or clearing adventure stages. Players can earn SLP which can be converted to Ethereum, and finally, exchanged to real money should they wish to. In this short article, we will discuss the different stats in the game and how they affect an axie's performance.

Stats Description

Just like with any standard game that involves combat, stats will come into play. Axie Infinity is no different; each axie has four stats that affect their combat effectiveness and survivability. The four main stats are as follows:

HP

This is your axie’s health; it represents the amount of damage it can take before getting knocked out.

Morale

This stat increases the chance of landing a critical strike. It also makes it more likely for an axie to enter Last Stand mode after suffering fatal damage. This also increases the number of ticks/ bars during Last Stand.

Skill

This stat affects the damage dealt by an axie when playing multiple cards at once (or executing a combo). The calculation is something like this: (ability card’s attack value * skill )/ 500

Speed

This stat determines the turn order of axies; in short, faster axies will get to attack first. If ever two axies have the same speed stat value, the attack order is determined by comparing additional conditions as listed: High speed > Low HP > High Skill > High Morale > Low Fighter ID

Base Stats

The first factor that will affect axie stats is their body type (class). Each axie will have different base stats depending on their class, which brings up the total stat value to 140 base stat points.

Class (Base) HP (Base) SPD (Base) SKL (Base) Morale
Aquatic 39 39 35 27
Beast 31 35 31 43
Bird 27 43 35 35
Bug 35 31 35 39
Plant 43 31 31 35
Reptile 39 35 31 35
Dawn 35 39 39 27
Dusk 43 39 27 31
Mech 31 39 43 27

Parts affecting Stats

Each body part can also add bonus stats, depending on their class. While axies can equip parts from classes other than their own, it’s still highly recommended to equip parts belonging to their own class to gain a bonus to their ATK and DEF. Parts are permanent features of an axie. As of this writing, there's no way to detach and interchange parts

Class Part Bonus Stats
Plant +3 HP, +1 Morale
Aqua +3 SPD, +1 HP
Reptile +3 HP, + 1 SPD
Beast +3 Morale, +1 SPD
Bug +3 Morale, +1 HP
Bird +3 SPD, +1 Morale
