How to Fund your Ronin Wallet Directly (Using Ramp)

Why use Ramp?

Purchasing assets directly via Ramp (using fiat/normal currency) is a cheaper alternative since you don’t have to pay excessive gas fees. Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Bank transfers are the available deposit options, making this method very accessible to a lot of users. This method is made to overcome the clunky process of buying ETH on a centralized exchange, transferring it to MetaMask, and then finally depositing it to Ronin!

Direct Deposit via Ramp network

First, access the Ronin Ramp page. From there, choose the asset you want to purchase then click the “Purchase” button under their respective icons.

In the next pop-up window, you’ll be able to select the country (where your funds will be coming from) and that country’s supported currency. So for example below, even though the country displayed has defaulted to PH, the currency used is still in USD. If your country is not available in the drop down, that means that it is not currently supported.

The default value is 100 but you can change it to a lower amount. However, you can’t go lower than the minimum order value. This value will depend on the ETH value and the corresponding Ramp fee. You can click the Details button to see the breakdown of the cost. Once you’re ready click Next.

In the same popup window, an additional window will appear beside it. If you’re a first-time user, you’ll have to put your email address to register with Ramp. Otherwise, you just need to confirm if the registered email is correct. Click Proceed once done.

Next, you’ll have to enter your Ronin Wallet address. To get the address, log in to your Ronin Wallet extension, then click the “Copy Address” button right beside the account name. Paste that in the text box then click Proceed.

In the following screen, you’ll have to select your payment method. The available method will depend on the country. Just make sure that the selected country is where the funds will originate from. In this example, the only available method is via (Credit) Card.

Next, enter the required fields then click proceed. Finally, once the details are confirmed, click Buy Now. As an additional security step (especially for first time users), you’ll be required to submit documents that can serve as your Proof of Address. These documents must be not older than 3 months old. The type of documents needed will be listed down in the same screen.

Why do you need to get verified?

The actual verification process is a whole new process. This might seem like a hassle but consider it a great security measure that will work towards your benefit as well. After completing the verification process, you still have to wait for the Ramp team to complete the process on their end. This step will vary, and may take around several up to a few hours. Once the verification is completed, you’ll receive an email instructing you to complete the transaction.

If you can’t still complete the transaction (especially when using a credit card), it’s safe to assume that your bank is automatically declining said transaction as a security measure. You’ll have to contact your bank again and ask if they can allow such a transaction. After completing this process, you’ll be able to purchase WETH conveniently whenever you need to.
