What is the correct direction to go when you start The Dark Lord Returns stage?

You have to assemble the statue then it points right then left (I think). I always go both and I always end up in the next area. The next 2 areas work the same but it points 3 and then 4 ways. You just go the last way it points before the timer runs out

If you assemble the knight armour and then shoot it you will be shown the correct direction.
