Axie Infinity is a play-to-earn game where players use a team of creatures called Axies in battling other players or clearing adventure stages. Players can earn SLP which can be converted to Ethereum, and finally, exchanged to real money should they wish to. In our “How to Fund your Ronin Wallet (via Bridge)” guide, we will discuss the steps to deposit funds to your Ronin Wallet so you can start purchasing your own team of Axies.

According to the game support page, there are two methods where you can deposit funds to your ronin wallet. The first method will require you to have a personal crypto wallet like Metamask or Binance Chain Wallet. You’ll add funds there, then transfer said funds to your Ronin Wallet via Roninbridge.

Why do you need another wallet like Metamask?

Think of Ronin wallet as an Axie-specific wallet while Metamask is an Ethereum wallet. Ronin does not support ETH - only WETH (Wrapped ETH) while Metamask can store ETH itself. The process will be something similar to this:

Personal wallet / Metamask (ETH) > Ronin Bridge > Ronin Wallet (WETH).

The other method requires using a credit or debit card through Ramp; however, this method is only available in certain countries, which we will briefly discuss within this page as well. Since this is a direct purchase, a lot of users consider this because it’s somewhat cheaper than the first method.

Deposit via Bridge from Ethereum Network

1. For this article, we will use a Metamask wallet since it is directly supported by Sky Mavis. To set up your Metamask wallet, check out our dedicated page here for a quick tutorial of the process involved.

2. Once you have a Metamask wallet, you’ll need to add funds to it. That’s another process on its own so you can check out the link below for the steps to do it. One popular way of doing it is via the crypto exchange platform such as Binance or Coinbase. You’ll also need the same exchange platform if you want to convert your asset to cash (via Bank deposit) but more on that later. Please follow the instructions provided by your exchange platform of choice for adding funds/ assets to your MetaMask wallet.

3. Once your MetaMask wallet’s funds are ready, we’ll need to transfer the funds to your Ronin Wallet. Head to the Ronin Bridge site, which will show the screenshot below. From the available options, click the Deposit button. Select the account you want to connect then click Next.

4. Log in to your Ronin Wallet then copy the wallet address. You can click the "Copy Address" button as shown below to copy the whole address.

5. Next, paste the wallet address in the Ronin Address field as shown below. Make sure that the ronin address is correct. Once confirmed, the bridge will deposit funds to the provided address. In case a wrong address has been entered, you will lose the funds sent and the Axie Infinity devs cannot recover them.

6. Next, tap the Asset dropdown to reveal all the assets. In this example, let’s select ETH. Set the amount you’ll be transferring and tap Next. A confirmation window will pop-up. Review all the details before finalizing the transaction.

Additionally, you should also be aware of the transaction fee based on the gas fee. The amount of time it will take for you to receive your funds will depend on the gas price you’ve set. You can check out this link to see the current gas prices.

If you wish to purchase assets directly and if you have the capability to do so, please proceed to our next page.

This concludes our guide for depositing funds to your Ronin Wallet using the Bridge in Axie Infinity. For more Axie Infinity content, please check out our other pages within this guide.
