You have to look at the ground to find the batteries and tap on them to collect them. To do so, tilt your irl phone down to direct your light to where you want it to go

But what if I play on iPad instead of phone? Because when I try to tilt my iPad while playing the game it won’t let me

You can tilt your phone while you are walking on the path to look down, and on the pathway there are batteries
