Winged Light:

Winged Light is the term for those children of the light that you see scattered across the different kingdoms in Sky -- used to improve your cape, and ultimately improve your ability to fly (longer flight time and can reach higher altitude). Below are the number of winged lights to see in each of the kingdoms.

Cape Upgrade / Winged Lights

It is really hard to define or pinpoint exactly the whereabouts of each one since there isn’t a map system in the game (and describing it by words would really be just hard to understand). However, it is more useful if you at least know the total number of winged creatures to find in each kingdom so you won’t have to waste your time roaming around if you have an idea how much you’ve already collected in that particular area. Plus, it will be really be more beneficial that you actually explore every nook and cranny of each kingdom to familiarize yourself of the different places in the game. Truth be told, what else will you be doing in the game anyways than look for these stuff other than the ancestors.

As you see in the image above, there are a total of 66 winged light to collect in the game -- just before you complete the game the first time (before you try to get to the Eye of Eden chapter). There are of course more in the game as you get to be reborn, and then try to re-acquire them again (while they count as new ones added to your cape level). To-date, these are a total number of winged lights that we've acquired in the game.

It is published officially that there are 76 in total, but we really don't know how to get the remaining 10. However, if you do know, kindly post in the comments below this page so we may update the values to find in each kingdom. You should also know that when you get to be reborn, you'll earn additional winged lights on top of those that you've already acquired. Earning each one of the winged lights you acquire will gradually increase the experience gauge in your cape, and filling it up will grant you a higher level of flight (seen as wedges in the cape’s gauge).

Below are the required number of winged lights to acquire before your cape will level up:

Cape Upgrade / Winged Lights

As we've mentioned, after completing the game and finishing the Eye of Eden Chapter, you’ll be reborn and get to re-acquire all the winged light across the kingdom all while retaining the volume of winged lights you’ve already acquired before you’ve been reborn. This way, you are able to improve your cape up until it reaches 11 forms of upgrade (up to 11th tier).

To get the concluding upgrades, you’ll need the following

8th Tier = 75 Winged Lights (total)

9th Tier = 100 Winged Lights (total)

10th Tier = 120 Winged Lights (total)

11th Tier = 150 Winged Lights (total)

You should also know that each tier of your cape is equivalent to the number of flaps it makes whenever you try to launch (from the ground). This means the higher it gets, the higher altitude you can reach. Not limited to that, it also serves as a flight duration gauge. When you are flying, you’ll see that the cape gauge diminishes in value -- which is equivalent to the flight duration that you have. You’d normally recharge this gauge when you’re on foot.

Also, be cautious about getting into collision with other stuff while flying as it can render damage to your cape. You’ll be penalized by losing some of your winged lights. They would appear as if they were items that you’ve dropped -- which you have a few seconds to get them before they disappear. In case you fail to get them back and do disappear, you’ll have to re-acquire these winged lights that you’ve lost, which will then be scattered randomly across the different kingdoms (which sucks). Below are the ways that you can lose some of your winged lights:

Soaked in water and your (cape) gauge is depleted

Soaked in rain and your (cape) gauge is depleted

Suffering damage from being attacked by some creatures in the game

Colliding with stuff in the game while flying or landing to fast
