Find all the Children of Light (winged light)

Okay, we’ve discussed why you need the winged lights in the game, and how it generally upgrades your cape. If not you can read it here in the [Improve your Cape] section. The thing about the game is that it gradually introduces you to different kingdoms (locations) as you progress, which on the other hand will provide you access to several winged lights all over the world and improve your flight. If you then manage to improve your flight power, you’d typically be able to check back on the kingdoms that you’ve explored before and check for higher places that you previously weren’t able to reach.

Somehow, this is how it manages to give you reason to go back and forth the different kingdoms -- without getting you bored on having to deal with repetitive routines in the game. For one thing, trying to get to those tricky areas are one of the challenges in this game. It is like hunting for treasures scattered across the different kingdoms.

Acquire Emotes and Outfit

While you are focused on improving your cape, you also get to experience and re-live the lives of the “ancestors” in the different kingdoms. These ancestors are the blue-ish mirage that shows you different highlights in their lives, by means of having you follow the blue orbs like bread crumbs. When you finish the different scenarios in their past, you usually find a hardened rock-like figure of them which will enable you to like a candle for them and set their spirit free. When they are freed, what you get in return is their emote -- one that is earned in its basic form and you can upgrade later on. You can also usually purchase an outfit from them (hair style, cape style, or sometimes change even your physique), by purchasing them with hearts (a form of currency in the game).

Apart from earning such collectibles from the ancestors, what they also do at the same time is grant you access to areas which are by default locked by spirit gates (as seen on the image above). Usually, the number that you see in these gates is the number of spirits (that you’ve already met/freed) it requires to grant you access. If you have not met the requirements of the gate, it serves as a barrier and you simply wouldn’t be able to pass through. What this means is that, the more ancestors you get to meet, the more areas will be unlocked for you to explore.

Interaction and Co-op Play

The game is an MMO for a good reason -- you are going to meet people in its world and you’ll be forced to interact and play co-op if you want to progress in the game. Initially, you will see other players as the gray silhouettes wandering around the kingdom. You’ll see some interact at first, but all you’ll be seeing is the [.....] on top of them. To see them, you’ll have to exchange lights with them (using the candle) by tapping on their avatar when you get close to them. If they choose to exchange lights with you, you’ll be able to see their characters and actually get to chat with them.

There are also spots/areas in the game where you get to leave messages for other people to read, places where you can interact and even play music together, or occasionally, areas in the game where you need another player/s in order to access it. In the game, there are special gates that require a number of people in order to open them. To help you get the help that you need, you’ll be given a call-out flare in one of the first few missions in the game -- for other players to see and (supposed to) help you, or one another.

You should also know that chatting in the game does not come free! In order to even chat with another player, you’ll need to light a candle(currency in the game) when you are sitting on the chat benches. The time that it is lit is also limited so in order to continue chatting, one of you must light another candle. Nonetheless, you’ll get the chance to acquire an ability to chat with friends later on in the game with an unlimited time, or you can also choose to purchase a “Chat Blessing” from spirit shops -- which will grant you access to chat, similar to the benches.
