Punishing Gray Raven is a visually-stunning, action-packed ARPG set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the Corrupted. Since combat is the core mechanic of the game, improving your Memories is also essential in ensuring that you’ll get the best possible boost to your construct’s damage output and improving their overall BP. In our Memory Training Guide, we will discuss the various methods of improving your Memories in Punishing Gray Raven.

Due to the increasing cost of improving memories, it is strongly suggested to avoid heavily investing on any 4-star memory or below. Save your precious enhancement and overclock materials once you have access to 5-star and 6-star memories.

Enhancing Memories

Enhancement is the process of using Memory Enhancement Materials or other Memories to level up the memories you want. You can only level up Memories to a certain level; after that, you’ll have to Overclock them to remove the level limit, allowing you to level up your memory even further.

Memory Training Guide

You can use other memories, preferably 3-star memories below as fodder. Otherwise, you’ll be relying on material memories called Memory Enhancers whose sole purpose is to be used as enhancement fodder. If you have previously-leveled up memories that you don’t need anymore, you can Recycle them to get back 70% of the upgrade materials.

Enhancing is pretty straightforward; just select the Memory you want to level up, tap Select All to select all materials then press Enhance to pay the required amount of Cogs. This is the only method of leveling up your Memories. You can obtain Memory Enhancement materials by completing normal maps (even when in Auto-clear). You can farm Memory Enhancers by clearing Logistics Maintenance stages.

Memory Overclock

As mentioned above, you can only enhance memories up to a certain level. After that, you can’t enhance a memory any longer until you Overclock them. This is the process of limit-breaking, allowing you to remove the level cap and level up the memory further. After Overclocking a memory, its level will revert back to LV1 while retaining the current stats after the level is reset. You have to Enhance it once again to reach the next level cap.

Memory Training Guide

You can overclock a 4-star memory up to three times while 5-star and 6-star memories can be overclocked four times. Overclocking a memory will require Overclock Alloys, Overclock Circuits, and Cogs. You can farm Overclock Alloys and Circuits in the Military Hardware resource stages.

Memory Resonance

This feature allows you to use duplicate copies of memories to further strengthen them. This is only available to 5-star and 6-star memories, which can be resonated two times at most. 5-star resonances can be equipped by any character while 6-star resonances can be activated after being bound to a character. However, only the effect will be bound to a character; other characters can still equip the memory like normal.

Memory Training Guide

When you resonate, you can get one random Resonance Skill. You can still “reroll” and try again for a chance to get a better skill but once again, you’ll be at the mercy of the RNG gods. For 6-star characters, you can also check the available Resonance Skills by tapping the Skill Preview in the lower-right corner of the screen.
