War Zone Guide
More Punishing: Gray Raven
Punishing Gray Raven is a visually-stunning, action-packed ARPG set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the Corrupted. The game has a variety of different modes and challenges that make up the game’s main content. In our Punishing Gray Raven War Zone Guide, we will discuss the features and mechanics of this mode.
War Zone is a mode is unlocked after clearing story stage Clear 4-8 Normal. Players will deploy teams to combat the waves of Corrupted in five different areas. The more Corrupted the team eliminates, the more influence and resources you earn.
Players will form a group with two other Commandants (players). During the Recruitment Phase, players can freely form teams on their own. Otherwise, participants will be automatically teamed up with Commandants of almost the same strength/level. The team’s overall points is tallied from the individual members’ personal score. The team’s collective score is then compared to the other teams in the ranked Leaderboard. Their placement determines the quality and amount of rewards the team members get during the Results phase.
Each area is composed of three stages where players have to face waves of enemies. There is no serum requirement for entering these stages and there is no attempt limit. In each round of the event, War Zones will be chosen randomly. Some stages are available for repeat challenges, some will require Unlock attempts, while other zones are totally inaccessible for this round. For stages that need to be unlocked, you can use an Unlock attempt. This Attempt counter refreshes at 5AM daily and does not carry over.
War Zones will have different modifiers as well. Use the appropriate construct and equipment to have an easier time and gain more points at the same time. If you deploy constructs that can take advantage of the available stage environment, they’ll gain a damage bonus. For example, Karenina - Ember will deal 30% more damage in Cycle of Fire stages. There’s no detrimental effect for bringing a construct with a different element in an active stage; they’ll just miss the damage bonus and their default strength will remain the same.
War Zone | Effect |
---|---|
Machine Factory | Physical DMG +30% |
Cycle of Fire | Fire DMG +30% |
Laser Alloy | Lightning DMG +30% |
Shadow Forest | Dark DMG +30% |
Crimson | Ice DMG +30% |
The scores obtained by a player for all three stages will be tallied up and will make up the player’s personal score. The player’s personal score is then added to the team’s total points. Points are calculated using the following factors:
* Damage Dealt: Deal more damage to enemies for more points.
* Remaining HP: Try to avoid taking too much damage. The more remaining HP you have, the higher to score.
* Remaining Time: Try to clear all waves on the stage as quickly as possible for more points.
War Zone operates twice a week. There are three phases involved in this mode:
Phase | Schedule | Description |
---|---|---|
Recruitment | Every Sunday and Wednesday at 20:30 UTC. | Players will have to form teams with two other commandants. Once the recruitment phase is over, the system automatically teams up the player with 2 other commandants of the same strength/level. |
Battle Phase | Every Monday and Thursday at 07:00 UTC | This is the main phase; players need to tackle stages and earn points. |
Results Phase | Sunday and Wednesday at 20:00 UTC. | War Zone becomes locked as the points earned by teams will be tallied. |
War Zone missions allow you to collect rewards for completing various tasks during the event. These missions remain the same and will refresh weekly so don’t forget to claim them before the reset. You can get cogs, EXP pods, skill points, and enhancers without that much effort needed or simply playing the event as intended.
The in-game Shop requires Influence. You can only earn Influence during the Results Phase so if you want to earn more, you have to keep playing this event regularly. The shop offers 5-star and 6-star memories, and will refresh its list every week.
