Prior to starting anything in the game, you'll be tasked to create a main character that will ultimately play the game's accompanying lore. When you're in the process, the game will also ask you which profession you'll want for your character. And though this might not be a new thing for seasoned MMO players, given that the game caters interest to a lot of casual gamers, we've shortlisted a basic guide to help you differentiate one profession from the other.

To get you started, you should know that there are 4 types of profession in the game -- and the main difference in them is the role they actually play battle. For starters, you can differentiate them into two categories - the ones that can be placed in the front line - and those that play the part of support at the back row. Now to expound on their differences, we've shortlisted each type below:

Guard (Tank)

Particularly your best bet if you are inclined to performing melee attacks and mainly serve as the party's Tank. A guard has a high level of survivability thanks to its enormous HP. Given that a tank is usually supposed to fill the front lines, it is equipped with buffs to increase defense, as well as enormous attack power.

Imperial Medic (Control)

Control characters generally provide the team a buff effect that pacifies the tension from the succession of enemy attacks - might it be from a debilitating de-buff, or some buff that increases your resilience from attacks temporarily. Hence, the term "Control" is coined for. Not limited to this, they can also induce reasonable damage to enemies.

Scholar (AoE)

AoE for MMO newbies means Area of Effect - which is coined after the particular capacity of a character to do damage on multiple targets at a time. In this game, they also happen to be the heavy damage dealers. Usually, these characters have long range attacks too but suffer from extremely poor health points -- which is why they are usually positioned at the back of the formation.

Imperial Gourmet (Healer)

Healers literally do what they are basically called - to heal the party. Although not originally intended to take on the front lines, with their useful skills and their unique way of sustaining longer fights can generally give your other heroes in the team the chance to perform their attacks without interruption. Aside from this, healers are usually not particularly good in inducing damage to enemies. A healer main character coupled with relatively strong attack heroes can really be a great and easy way to progress in the game.
