Besides leveling and powering up your character and heroes in the game, one important factor in winning battles is properly setting up your roster of fighters. This is exactly what Embattle enables you. Basically, "Embattle" is where you set your party's formation. This short guide will tackle a brief introduction on how to properly balance you party, as well as understand the best position in which they will individually be allocated in the formation. You can always adjust this formation by simply clicking the "Embattle" button as seen on the image below.

First and foremost, you must make it a rule of thumb that a well-balanced party consists of the following: Tank , AOE, Control and Heal. That said, depending on the type of main character you have, you'll have to adjust which types of hero you'd have to consider -- joining your team. In the most preferable situation (considering you just started the game), you might want to have two tanks in the formation - lined up at in the front line. And at the back, you can have the AOE, the Control Character, and a Healer. Having this setup - regardless of the quality of heroes you currently have, you'll easily sustain longer fights and progress through the levels up until you've unlocked most of the game's functions.

During the early stages of the game, it is almost impossible to get an orange hero aside from Jing kE which will be handed to you within the tutorial phase. He is a tank type of hero - so you should put him in the front line. Depending on what type of character you have, you'll have to appropriately position your character in the formation. For instance if you choose a Tank or a Control character, you might want to position it in the front line along with Jing Ke. If for instance you pick an AOE or a Healer on the other hand, you might want to put it at the back of the formation. (Front - referring to the position closest to the enemy, and Back - referring to the position that is farther to the enemy).

During your first few days in the game, the battle would typically be so easy that it wouldn't matter if you even bothered to put your characters in the right formation or not. Not until you've progress further in the game would you notice the significance and impact of appropriately picking and setting a good formation for your party. The general idea is that a better formation would help you last longer in battles - in the sense that you can protect your damage dealers from dying early in the battle, as well as making sure that you can pre-emptively finish off the enemy numbers before they get the chance to handicap your party or worse defeat you in battle.

When you probably have completed a couple hundred stages in the game, you'd eventually get the idea or weigh the situation if you're ought to win or lose a battle. For instance, during these advance stages, losing your AOE (main damage dealer) would most likely mean that you're pretty much done for in that particular battle. Making sure you've got the right combination of heroes in the team, and assessing which skills would benefit you in a particular situation is very important - which begs the need to fiddle around with Embattle function, even during the early stages of the game.

Again, the basic combination should play around this basic concept:

Front: (2) Tanks or (1) Tank and (1) Control

Back: (2) Damage Dealers (AOE / Control) and (1) Healer.

Below are our best suggestions for Orange Heroes to have (and powered up) in the game:

Jing ke: Jing Ke is a Tank, and your very first orange quality hero in the game. He would probably be securing a position in your roster and get you to the advanced stages of the game up until you earned someone better than him like Xiangyu for instance.

Xiangyu: Xiangyu is probably the beefiest among all Tank heroes in the game, as he has the highest defense stat (at least among orange heroes).

Yuhuan: If Xiangyu is the best tank among all orange heroes, Yuhuan is the orange hero healer counterpart.

Renjie: Reasonably well balanced hero with above normal stats. The thing that makes him a good choice is that his hero shards are easily obtained in the game -- meaning improving on him is relatively a bit more easier compared to other heroes.
