Affection Guide

Punishing Gray Raven is a visually-stunning, action-packed ARPG set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the Corrupted. You play as Lucia, the leader of the post-human elite task force called Gray Raven set to combat these deadly machines as humanity’s hope to take back the world they have lost. In the grim world where you’re constantly fighting, it’s quite easy to forget about interacting with your characters or if there’s even a need to do it at all. While the Affection system is an optional feature that provides no combat benefits, some Commandants with preferred constructs may want to know them better.

What is the Affection System?

This system allows you to give gifts to constructs and increase their affection level. Every time their affection level increases, you’ll unlock new entries regarding hidden info, secrets, new voice lines, and story cutscenes. Increasing the affection level does not provide additional buffs or effects in combat so you’re not really required to do this if you don’t care about knowing more about your constructs.

How do you increase Affection?

Affection is increased by giving Gifts. Look at the colored bands on the right side of each gift; this indicates the gift’s rarity. Blue gifts give 10 affection, purple gifts give 20. Be careful not to carelessly use the favorite gifts of other characters; it’s better used on them since it will give them 60 affection instantly. Thankfully, you’ll know if a character’s preferred gift is available on the list by looking for a heart icon.

Where do you get gifts?

You can obtain gifts from completing Dorm-related tasks or by interacting with one of the characters you’ve assigned to the dorm. You should also be able to purchase gifts using Dorm (gold) Coins but they’re not always available. Try to get them whenever they’re up after the shop refreshes.

How do you give gifts to your constructs?

To give gifts to your constructs, you have set them as your active character in the lobby first. By default, it’s Lucia. Here’s how you do it:

1. Tap the character on the screen to see the floating menu on the left side. They should be in this order: Swap (construct), Change Outfit, Interact.

2. Tap Interact to go to the next screen then go to Gifts.

3. Select the gift you want to give.

Since gifts are obtained from the dorm, you’ll need to unlock that feature first to be able to collect gifts and start increasing the affection of your constructs. There’s no rush in this so play the game normally then diligently do your dorm-related tasks and interactions to collect more gifts.
