Almost every game that features character growth will include a stats system that keeps track of the various attributes characters have. Standard attributes like HP, MP, ATK, DEF, are already familiar to players though there are some game-specific attributes that sometimes need to be defined better. In our Character Stats guide, we will quickly discuss the various stats that can affect a character’s performance.

One Punch Man - The Strongest is the mobile game adaptation of the popular shonen manga and anime series that centers around the titular One Punch Man. Players can’t play as Saitama himself but they’ll be able to recruit various heroes, villains, and more to form a powerful team they can use to clear the various game content.

You can view your character’s stats by tapping the Stats icon in the lower-right corner of the Character Info screen. From there, you can tap More to display the other hidden stats and Stats Info to open a quick tool tip that will provide quick definitions about each stat. For now, let’s talk about the other stat-related attributes that you’ll encounter often when building characters.

Character Stats Guide

Rarity or Grade

There are four rarities in the game, arranged from lowest to highest: N, R, SR, and SSR. The highest rarity you can get with gacha is SSR. The last rarity is called SSR+ but it can only be achieved by awakening a specified SSR or SR character. To all characters currently added in the game, you can access the Album option from the bottom menu. From there, you can sort the displayed characters based on who you own and their rarities. The album includes characters that are already added to the game but not yet available for recruitment.

Energy

You can find the energy gauge just above the Turn Order row in the lower-left portion of the screen. Once the gauge collects 1000 energy points, 1 Energy is added to the pool. This energy is required to trigger a character’s ULT skill. The usual energy cost for Ults is 2 Energy. Some skills have a direct impact on your starting Energy or gain. Some core skills (like Genos’ Justice Power) allows your party to start off with a generous amount of Energy.

Perks

These are special stat boosts that get activated as soon as you meet one of the following requirements:

*Obtain the required characters connected to the character

* Ascend the character’s exclusive equipment (Keepsake)

* Ascend the character’s badge (Insignia)

Each character has a different set of perks. Simply tap any of the link icons under this section to view the required characters to activate a perk, as well as the stat bonuses that will be applied. Your characters will have access to their default keepsake and insignia, even level them up but to be able to activate their respective Insignia perks, they need to be Ascended first. Gear and badge ascension unlocks once your account level reaches LV38.

Increasing Stats

A character can improve their stats (and their BP) through several means. The most common method is leveling up your characters but there are more ways to increase their stats even further. Take note that some stat boosts here are conditional (e.g. a character needs to be part of a team or active lineup)

* Evolution: (this process becomes available once a character hits the soft level cap. The character needs to be evolved to remove the cap and continue leveling up.)

* Limit Break: This process will increase a character’s star. Before you can do that, you’ll need to use Badges (not to be confused with Insignias) and the character’s shards to activate a node. Once all stat nodes are activated, the limit break for that level is complete. We will discuss this process in detail on a separate dedicated page.

* Activating Perks: (Described above)

* Unlock Saitama Talents:Unlock nodes in the Saitama Talent screen. The stat boosts provided here will be applicable to all deployed characters in the team (lineup).

* Unlock Saitama Memories:These are also under the Saitama menu. Unlock the required image pieces to form the full picture. The stat boosts that will activated will be applicable to all members of the team line up

* Activate Figurine Display:As you gain more characters, you’ll be able to unlock their corresponding figurines in the Display cabinet of your Home option. Activating these figurines will also provide bonus stats that’s applicable to all characters in your roster.

Character Stats Guide

Base Stats

These are the standard stats that you’re most likely familiar with. A character’s Growth Rate will affect the value on how each stat will increase. To put it simply, characters with higher growth rate will have higher stat values compared to a character with normal growth rate when compared at the same level.

Stat Description
HP Indicates a character’s health points. The more HP they have, the more damage they can take before succumbing.
ATK Determines how much damage a character can deal.
DEF Determines the character’s damage reduction. The higher the value, the less damage they’ll take.
SPD Speed determines the character’s action sequence during a turn. Higher speed characters act first.

Growth Stats

These are extra stats that will indicate a character’s growth speed. This is determined by the character’s rarity. SSR characters normally have a 120%-125% growth rate, SRs have 110%-112%, while N and R characters have a default 100% rate. This is quite significant since every time a character levels up or increases their stats, their growth rate for certain stats will have higher values in the end.

Growth Stat Description
ATK Growth Rate Character gains higher stats when their ATK stat increases.
DEF Growth Rate Character gains higher stats when their DEF stat increases.
HP Growth Rate Character gains higher stats when their HP stat increases.
SPD Growth Rate Character gains higher stats when their SPD stat increases.
