I have lots of Master Farmers but can't seem to pick up a whale bone. How do you do that?

You need a builder to pick up the whale bone. Then take them to the construction table (near the research table) and they will make an axe.

I keep trying with different master builders, even a perfect villager and nothing.

Oh, I forgot who I used to pick up the whale bone, but try the person who has at least half filled research bar. I slightly remember I sent my best researcher to pick it up and it worked.
