Dropping a child onto the jumping fish hasn't worked for me. How do I get the child to catch them for the collectibles? Also is there a way to help the fish jump?
I'm trying to finish the collection so I can move on to the second phase.

Drop your child on the water where the fish is jumping into. That is where the child can catch the fish. You need the big single fish jumping, not the group of fishes jumping.
