Managing your party’s equipment is a staple feature of most RPGs and The Eminence in Shadow RPG is no different. Each character in the game can equip different types of gear that can boost their stats and even be used to increase their ranks. In our Equipment Guide, we will discuss how you can properly manage your party’s equipment.

The Eminence in Shadow is the mobile game adaptation of a popular isekai light novel where players take the reins of Cid, a modern-day teenager who gets transported to a dark fantasy world after death. Players have to collect various iterations and rarities of the established heroines in the game to form their ideal combat parties and proceed through the story.

Equipment Management

To access the Equipment menu, you have to do the following steps:

1. From the home screen, tap the Character Menu

2. Tap the Characters button to reach the Character Enhancement screen

3. Tap the Equipment tab to view all equipment slots.

Each character has six equipment slots: Weapon 1/ Shield 1, Weapon 2 /Shield 2, Helmet, Belt, Earring, and Bracelet. The equipment required for each character is predetermined but thankfully, you don’t have to worry about unique equipment pieces as all characters share the same pool of “generic” equipment with varying types and rarities. For example, Wooden gears are inferior to Stone-type gears, and they can be equipped on any character that can wear or carry them.

In the Character Enhancement screen, the equipment slot’s status will indicate if you can equip the gears to the characters or not:

* Slots with the "+" icon means that you have the gear in your inventory and you can equip it to the character

* Slots with the word “Obtainable” written in the bottom of the box indicate that you have unlocked the stage where you can farm the gear, but you don’t have enough to craft the required gear.

* A gray slot means that the stage where you can get the gear is not unlocked yet.

You can select the equipment pieces manually or use the “Equip All” button to conveniently wear all available gear pieces for that character in a single tap.

Equipment Guide

Certain gears have a character level requirement that will prevent any character from wearing any gear that’s way above their level. To get around this, you just need to level up the character by using EXP consumable items. You also don’t need to level up the gear pieces individually; when you need to move on from the current set, your character will need to use the same gear set to increase their rank, in which you’ll have to provide them new gear pieces afterward.

Rank Increase

Once a character has gear equipped on all six equipment slots, you’ll be able to increase the character’s rank. Doing so will consume all gears equipped on that character and increase their rank, boosting the character’s combat power rating and unlocking new skills in the process. The new gear that the character can equip after increasing their rank will be a higher tier than the previous set so you can continuously improve your characters’ growth.

Crafting Gear

You’ll be able to Fuse or Craft low-level gear and Equipment Shards to get the better version of the material gear. To do this, simply tap the gear you’re missing and you’ll be taken to the Fuse Equipment screen. For example, you can fuse 1 Stone Sword and 5 Iron Sword Shards to get a single Iron Sword. Equipment shards can also be purchased from Mitsugoshi (in-game shop).
Equipment Guide

If you have enough of the required low-level gear and shards, you just need to pay the displayed amount of Zeni to complete the fusion. If you’re missing a shard or gear, you can tap the icon of the incomplete gears to find the stage where you can farm them. You can farm these equipment pieces and shards mostly from Chronicle stages. If you have cleared these stages before, then you can conveniently use the Skip feature to automatically get the rewards for that stage without fighting a battle.

Equipment Guide

While some gear pieces share drops from the same stage, you might need to pay attention to the stage’s drop details since all the equipment pieces with the highest chance to drop on that stage will be displayed as well.

Magic Gear

These are special equipment that produces beneficial buffs and effects to anybody who wears them. Unlike ordinary gear, certain Magic Gears are exclusive to specific characters only. Also, each character can only carry up to two magic gears though you have to reach Rank 5 before you can unlock the second slot. We will discuss Magic Gears in a separate page within this guide.
