OTTTD Guide

Added:

Like other tower defense games, you have to use a variety of towers to deal with different types of enemies. Killing enemies will allow you to earn cash which you can use to either buy new towers or upgrade them. If you’re confident about your defenses, you can also call in the next wave in advance to get some extra money. There are only a limited number of spots where you can place your towers so choosing what and where a specific type of tower should be placed will have a strategic effect in fending yourself against enemy waves.

Towers

Enemies will stop on their tracks to attack your towers so repairing them is as important as upgrading them. If a tower’s HP is reduced to zero, it won’t be destroyed but will remain disabled instead until you repair it. You can repair them anytime and anywhere by just selecting the tower and paying for the corresponding repair cost. Having an engineer walk up and repair a tower or by using his Remote Repair ability is free and can save you money in the long run. Upgraded towers not only get stronger and their range increased, but they will also change their appearance. As long as you have money and as long as you've unlocked a tower's other forms, you can immediately transform it to one of the two advanced forms. For example, the Gatling tower can transform to a Blamwitzer and the Pulse Cannon can be transformed to an Omnicannon.

Towers

Gatling Tower

Fast targeting, high rate of fire. This is perfect for soft and fast targets.

Upgrades

  • Blamwitzer: Deals heavy impact damage from long range.
  • Velocadrone: A drone that has a mounted gatling gun that roams a wide area.

Pulse Cannon

Fires rapid energy shots that are effective against armor-wearing enemies

Upgrades

  • Omnicannon: Can fire multiple zaps of energy and can attack at any direction
  • Deathbeamer: Fires concentrated laser that deals very high damage on ground targets only

Shock Tower

Slows down enemies while dealing moderate damage

Upgrades

  • Shieldemitter: Produces shields to any tower or hero nearby. Great for defending the HQ or bottleneck where the majority of the battle takes place.
  • Healthgun: Heals nearby soldiers. When fully upgraded, it has a wide range and can almost instantaneously replenish nearby soldiers' HP.

Rocket

Slow rate of fire, fires homing rockets that deal massive splash damage

Upgrades

  • AA Battery: Deals heavy damage to airborne targets
  • Needler: Fires a swarm of small, homing missiles. Take note that these small missiles focus on one target; the projectiles will land and scatter, dealing miniscule explosions.
