Skill Training Guide
More One Punch Man - The Strongest
Character skills sometimes determine their role in the battlefield and their overall effectiveness or utility. The same idea applies to characters in the game; some characters are sought after because of their skills alone, regardless of their rarity. In our Skill Training guide, we will discuss the various skill types in the game and how to improve them.
One Punch Man - The Strongest is the mobile game adaptation of the popular shonen manga and anime series that centers around the titular One Punch Man. Players can’t play as Saitama himself but they’ll be able to recruit various heroes, villains, and more to form a powerful team they can use to clear the various game content.
Skill Types
The game has four different skill types, as listed below:Skill Type | Description |
---|---|
Attack | Standard attack skill |
Ultimate | Character’s special attack. Costs Energy to activate but contributes the most damage output for the character, on top of the special effects that can be inflicted by the ultimate skill. |
Passive | This is an innate ability of the character that provides beneficial effects or buffs to himself or the entire party. This can be unlocked once the character Limit Breaks to 2-stars. Increase the limit break level to 5-stars to enhance the passive skill. |
Core | Only a select few characters have this special skill available to them. This is similar to a “Leader Skill” that gets activated depending on the character types deployed in the same team. (see additional details below) |
Only one Core skill can be activated at a time so if your active party has more than one character with a Core Skill, you can freely choose which Core Skill effect to activate before the fight starts.
Skill Points
To improve a character’s skill, you have to access the Skill Training menu. You can do this by selecting the character you want to improve, tap the character button then select the Skill tab. From there, you can spend Skill Points. These points can only be obtained by spending coins. To do this, tap the “Get” button in the lower-right corner of the pop-up window, just beside the “Train” button. From there, you can spend coins and receive the corresponding amount of skill points based on Training you’ve selected, as summarized below. You can purchase skill points from all categories as long as you have enough funds (spend 530,000 coins to get 530 skill points). After purchasing skill points, the Training options will enter a cooldown state before you can purchase SP again. The time required for the options to fully recover will depend on their level. Training 1 recovers quickly (10 mins) while Training 5 recovers in 3 hours.
Training LV | Skill Points | Cooldown | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Training I | 30 | 10 mins | 30,000 |
Training II | 50 | 30 mins | 50,000 |
Training III | 100 | 60 mins | 100,000 |
Training IV | 150 | 120 mins | 150,000 |
Training V | 200 | 180 mins | 200,000 |
Skill Training
Once you have enough skill points, you can now start spending them to level up the character skills. Only the three main skills are improved (Attack, Ultimate, and Passive) since Core Skills cannot be leveled up. If the character doesn’t have their Passive skill unlocked, only the two other skills will be leveled up. However, no points are wasted since they’ll just be allocated to the skills currently available. The amount of SP needed will increase as the skill levels increase. To level up the skills, you can press and hold the Train button. The skills will be improved as long as you have enough skill points. Another thing to note is that the max skill levels are tied to the Player Level. (Skill levels can’t exceed the player level) At the same time, skills have their own limiter. Press “Limit” to view the skill level limit. From the same window, you can consume Skill Books and Coins to increase the skill limit. Skill Books can be obtained primarily from Saitama Investigations and Club Explorations.
