VV origins 2 survival desert oasis how do I get grasshopper to leave or kill?

You have to get posion from the snakes by the pond and collect special berries that appear near the water wheel at the top the bush is yellow and are only there when the locusts show up. My only problem is trying to get the poison can't seem to get the snakes to show up and fishing down those earthquake holes ain't cutting it. Good luck though. Those locust keep killing my people and causing destruction.

It needs to be raining/snowing to fill the pond with water then the snakes will appear. Not sure how that will happen in the desert.
