How to kill Kracken either statue or in water?

If I understood things correctly, when you finish the statues in puzzle 11, it causes an eruption of the volcano which destroys the kraken which I believe is actually a squid. I am in the middle of trying to get the last statue (yellow) finished so I can trigger puzzle 12. All my other puzzles are done.
