How to catch for your team

In Soul Guardian, battles are done with your team. You get to have one partner when starting out in the game, and you will then have to make progress by catching more of them in order to increase your power. Throughout the different areas, you’ll find locations where they can be caught.

Steps on how to catch

When starting out in Soul Guardian, you’ll be going through different areas where you’re provided with a tutorial section, telling you what to do. You will eventually start a quest where you will need to battle and catch a new partner for your team. You’ll be provided with balls that can be used once you have weakened your opponent.

In order to catch, you will first enter the battle. Your main goal is to weaken the opponent’s HP in order for them to have a higher chance of a successful capture. Be careful when choosing your moves, since super effective attacks will hit hard, and you might potentially knock them out.

Once their HP is lowered, you can then catch by going to your bag menu, and then choose a ball of your choice. You will then automatically throw this to your opponent and try to catch them. Once you are successful, they can be added to your team, or perhaps they’ll go straight to your computer once your team is full.

Take note though, that not all creatures available in Soul Guardian are available in the wild. There are some that can only be obtained through the game’s gacha system which can provide you with a variety of different partners with all kinds of rarities.

Choosing the right ball

Starting out, you will fight enemies that have lower levels; therefore, it will make sense for you to use Poke Balls which are the most basic versions. Soon enough, you’ll get to battle stronger enemies which will make them more difficult to catch. You will eventually be able to get items such as Great Balls, as well as Ultra Balls which will be much more effective.

If you want to have a challenge when catching monsters, you can always stick to Poke Balls since they are the cheapest ones available as well. Soon enough, you’ll be able to have enough money to use the better ball versions that are available.
